kashmira - I think it is worth it It will be your "special" bag made just for you I have been waiting since last October for my first SO bag...and I do not expect to see it until the end of this year.

kashmira, sometimes I give simple answers but I was thinking....have you tried putting your fav colors next to black to see how they 'wear' with each other and imagine them in the bottom of your black Birkin?

I feel, that, of course, you have...I always enjoy seeing my colorful accessories inside my bags and 'pretend' sometimes that my bag is lined in these colors. By doing this, it gives me some color perspective.

I have a closet full of mistakes, so if this is going to be your ONLY birkin, follow your gut instinct. STICK with FRAMBROISE! I think it would be a gorgeous combo. You will love it forever, and never think twice about it. It will take some time for this lovely bag to arrive and as Castorny correctly noted, you will go through at LEAST 2 price increases if not 3 before you receive it...so again, another reason to get what you really want. That is the beauty of the SO.
Yep, I agree 100% with this

Since you mentioned that it'll be your one and only Birkin, stick with what you really desire since this will be a SO and made specially for you. It's great that your SA can offer you that.

I'm doing an SO too and am having contrasting lining. I know the wait will be longer but I love the idea that this bag has been made just for me to my own specification.

Let us know what you decide

I decided to go for a normal PO... The waiting time could be up to 2 years for a SO (they had had a Kelly in black/Framboise recently and it was ordered in 2006) and I don't want to wait that long for the bag. IF I ever decide to buy another Birkin I will place a SO for an etoupe bag with framboise lining.

I think one of the factors could be the framboise lining. If your special orderr comprises leathers/colors that are readily available on hand, it shouldnt take more than 1 year (excluding exotics)

And go with the framboise, if that makes your heart sing
Amen to that, Reya.

Oh, and as for the my contribution: cyclamen lining.

Unfortunately, you can't pay for an SO at the time it is accepted. You have to pay the retail price at the time it is received at your store.

When my Kelly comes in, it will be charged on American Express after I am notified.

Love the idea of framboise or rose shocking. It would be such a great contrast for black and very feminine.
