Hm. Is it possible that croc skin darkens that much over time and that it really was the same color once? I know that ostrich sort of gets a "suntan", but I don't know about matte croc, never having owned any.

Yet.

Well I'm going to speculate that these 2 were never the same color to start with. So while they technically "shouldn't" have that much variation in color due to their QC, in reality they do.

But with regard to matte, oddly there is a new little handling/warning card inside the matte pieces that tell you not to leave the bag exposed to sunlight and moonlight!, due to danger of discoloration. I found that funny since I didn't really think moonlight would be much of an issue.

Agreed.

The natural barenia and barenia "fauve" that I compared weren't croc, either, so I'm talking about a completely different kettle of.....well...cow, really. LOL!

Oh dearie, he's already trained. Haha, I just asked what was for dinner and the answer was, hilariously, weinerschnitzel.
Sometimes I wonder if he's actually straight. LMAO

shoot me but the bag pictured on the left ookls like nilo croc to me what would explain the color difference (colors can look significantly different on poro and nilo)
bw fauve means wild beast or goldenbrown quite fitting no?

love ya my dear. well i can be wrong as i do not see the bag as a whole but given the look of the scales the fringes the pattern i say it is nilo and knowing how colors can look different on each skins (not only croc hey look at ver anis or rouge h totally different on different skins you would not even call it the same color sometimes) i say that is the reason also backing up gina b´s post my manager told me too (when requiering about a matte birkin for me )that it is the same color they just renamed it due to the misunderstandings of barenia croc barenia leather for bags and barenia leather for clothes

It makes sense, as barenia, really, is the TYPE of leather...natural was the colour, kwim? So they needed to distinguish the difference.
