I think I´m just about fed up with all these Hermes Birkins. The bag snob girls are talking all the time about them and now the same business is continuing in the purse blog. I´m so tired of this great bag that I feel like vomiting. Surely it would be ok to have a croc grey bag, but the price is too high. And the Birkin is so impractical cause you have to keep it open -maybe it is so difficult to close- to get access to your stuff inside. It is also easy for a pickpocket to get hold of your posessions. Actually this crazyness must be an American phenonemon!!!

Odd, I can't remember anyone asking your opinion? Your comments are totally inappropriate. This is a reveal thread, and if you have nothing nice to say, then please refrain from posting.

Congrats on your new bag! I'm glad you got exactly what you wanted. Maybe you can start a thread of "a day in the life of your Birkin" and we could see more modeling pics.

LOVE that ride, very hot! And I love your daughter's (assuming) look on her face... heh

Absolutely and congratulations big time, Megs! You both did very well indeed. Your wise and thoughtful approach yielded the best results not to mention very
effective ""-wise .
I've been hesitant taking pictures of my collection and action pics due to lack of any professionalism whatsoever. Now your pictures will probably hold me of taking any of my Hermes's EVER, Vlad . Your work is gorgeous

Well I guess you could have safely assumed that in a Hermès subforum you might read quite a lot about Birkins. If you're fed up with the topic you're probably better of in another subforum ...you'll definitely read less about Birkins in the LV, Gucci or other designer forums. And most of all ...you won't spoil other peoples fun!

What is wrong with people at the moment? There are so many nasty remarks in posts at the moment ...must be the weather...

Gee, I started here w/a complaint about chatter, and then felt bad bcause lots of polite folks showed me the paperclips.....also felt a little bad for the negative vibe.......
But now I've seen an insult....much worse than a complaint. ....also a complaint containing the word "vomit". I don't feel as self conscious about my intro any more.
TOPIC: The new BJ bag is lovely. Good luck. I would like to own a BJ Kelly in epsom. I've never seen it, but I can picture it.

JMHO but.....the Birkin does have a kind of elitist charm........best taken w/a grain of salt. The overstuffed, "swingin open" look is a nod to the rich hippie vibe of the bag. It's a more carefree traveller.......not meant to be all things to all wearers. I like how different it is from the Kelly......Kelly worn messenger style on its' strap is a bit French schoolgirl or ingenue vibe. Or it can grow up into a ladylike look. The great thing is the character that H bags can have.......not just another machined bag w/too many buckles.....again JMHO.......

Congratulations on this absolutely stunning bag! I read the whole thread this evening (I just registered a few hours ago) and I had so much fun with it. The pictures are great too! Just one small problem: now I want one too!

Thank you everyone!

Not worried about the nay-sayers. If you don't like it, that is fine- I like it, hence I bought it!!

Metscan,
on a more practical note....u don't need to close the Birkin. If it's not too stuffed, u can do the straps, but lv the flap inside. It covers the opening a little, but u can still stick your hand in and out. It's a great system, but u won't know it until u use one awhile.
