Totally do not agree with a newspaper report at URBAN saying the sales staff are rude and treat you based on the way you dress. Sometimes...I just come in with my skinny jeans and flats and yet.....I still receive excellent treatments.
IFFAH, I shop at all three stores, but mostly Liat Towers & the one at DFS Galleria Scotts Walk. I like the store at DFS Galleria as they sometimes have interesting accessories that are not available at the NAC or Liat Towers stores. I also noticed that the Galleria store have some pretty nice bags from time to time!

I think once an Hermes store knows you well, it doesn't matter how you dress or what bag you wear But if you're going to the Hermes store in another city/country, it would be nice to wear an Hermes! At least if you ask to see something, you won't be treated as a lookie...

I agree with you, Gigi Leung. DFS Galleria Scotts Walk have very nice bags. It's true that when you go to a Hermes boutique in another country, it's best to dress up.

Actually whether is it in your own local country or overseas........remember ladies......dress up very well. Fashion is not just about bags but it's from head to toe. To be a fashionista, one has to look stylish not in terms of the clothes, bags and shoes.......but the hairstyle, nails, make-up and attitude. Graceful and charming attitude will stand you out from the crowd and instantly gain you more respect.

Most importantly, have your own signature style not following trends only coz' if you're doing that, you are just a fashion follower but not one who's called she got style........

Lastly, have a stylish mind!!!!!

Good lord! US$50,000 at one go!!! I'd have to rob a bank first!!

okay...I'd have to admit that sometimes I have evil thoughts of breaking into Hermes at night & ransack their store room for the Birkins & Kellys! I'd grab the croc & ostrich ones first!!! *bad Gigi*

How come cecilia cheung looks so ugly in some of this picture?? I was just wondering.. since a lot of my guy friend is crazy about her

I think you can get the birkin much easier in the HK store. I just assume... Since my mom got her choco ostrich birkin there and she has been waiting forever in Singapore. Is that true? I am getting a birkin at the end of this yr for my graduation present. Hopefully she's going to find one for me..

I read an article that many designers of handbags (mid to higher end) introduce certain handbags in Asia first (like a test run) to see how the women respond there to them. If they do well then they will most likely introduce them stateside. This actually lets the designers know if a handbag will have an amazing runa dnwhat they should expect. I found this to be very intersting and quite complimentary to all of you. I think it speaks volume on how you all as a nation are viewed and of course, how your buying power is valued.
I am so glad to have met all of you here.
Coach does intial releases in Japan, to test the market. That's where the signature C jagard fabric for bags was actually given it's first run !

And the buying power of Asia is imense, I mean, Louis Vuitton I believe does the most business there (insane !!).

Oh and not to get too off topic, I'm a shorty so I like how there's pictures to compare proportions ! Although it'll probably be years and years before I ever get my hands on a Hermes !

Oh yes! I think she is Korean...if any of you have seen Stairway to Heaven, she's the main actress...I THINK, I'm pretty sure though.

P.S. - I was born in Shanghai!

Cecilia Cheung actually had a lot of work done on her. But normally, she looks ok. I don't think she's the prettiest out there though, since it's not all "real", but a lot of my guy friends are hot for her too.

Yea she's pretty and though the tabloids and papers may portray her as this "crazy" chick. I feel sorry for her cuz her whole family is mooching off her and she's gotten her heart broken by this other HK celebrity

As for Mr. Lau mentioned in the earlier posts. Yea he tends to buy a lot of Birkins because he gives them out to his lovers. In a way I tend to think he cheapens the Hermes name (though he's like a huge VIP) cuz of that. I would hope that people who carry Birkins are elegant and classy women. Not like women who sleep around with an old, rich, guy.

I know, I have seen the most birkins or kellys in HK too. That's why I was so surprised to hear someone hear once said things like bags are a decade behind in Asia. Whenever I am there, I always see peple carrying the latest IT bags!

I'm going to HK in June! I haven't saved up enough for a Birkin, but I may have to buy it if I see the Rouge VIF Porosus, lol. Where are the Hermes boutiques in HK?

<-- also Asian, Cantonese in fact

I'm from Hong Kong. I go to school in the states though. I think there are quite a few Hermes in Hong Kong. I would recommend going to Landmark, Lee Garden and the Peninsula. They have all the upscale designer boutiques. You'll love it there. Then again there are second hand stores around every corner in Causeway Bay. You should see if you can get a birkin for a good deal!
