Not sure if this info is useful, when I placed my order at FSH in Sept, they didn't ask to see my passport. However, they wrote down my address and name.

I went to FSH in 2005 with my family (sisters and sister-in-law and brothers). I bought a Birkin under my name and a Kelly under my sister's name because they won't let me charge the Kelly under my name again. My family was with me at the FSH when I was buying the bags. I told the manager that my sister and my sister-in-law want a Birkin too if they have one in the next few days. The manager told me that no more Birkin and Kelly for me and any of my sisters and sister-in-laws.
But I think it maybe easier to buy the bags these days because of the economy. Seems like a lot of people are able to buy Birkin in Paris and US. Good Luck!

i bought one birkin and one HAC in FSH on a recent trip earlier this year. on subsequent trip in Sep, i bought another birkin (but from George V) but I am positive that they can see what you bought before and placed a SO at FSH the same day as George V does not take SO.
in both instances, i bought OTHER hermes items as well and was not questioned by the SA nor anyone regarding this one birkin per passport policy. if you wish to do tax refund, you will have to give them your passport info. so in the end, i guess what i am saying is that as with a lot of things H related, there seems to be no set rules and can just depends on the interaction between you and the SA? in either case, good luck! |

So if I don't need tax refund, that means I can get more than one birkin? ![]()

I used to work in the US and Canada and shop at Hermes Toronto a lot and claim tax refunds - Hermes (at that time, in Toronto) didn't care about whose name the credit card was under and neither did the border folk. Your daughter would have been able to purchase her own bag with her name, even at 7, even with you paying with your card. I don't know if she would have gotten the tax refund, but the rest would have been ok.
In general, as far as I have experienced in New York and Toronto (have only bought scarves in FSH), if you are willing to pay cash and you aren't asking for tax back or any sort of discount, they will sell you more than one bag. Cannot say for sure about Birkins specifically, and can only speak for about 8 years ago... |

I agree with Hanyeu that rules at FSH can be fluid, depending on your relationship with the SA. It is not a matter of how many bags you can buy there, but how many they are willing to sell to you. Obviously your daughter is entitled to buy a bag if you have the money/her own credit card/cash etc, but why would the SA sell to her when it's clear that the bag is for you? The policy is not to sell all their precious bags to the same person, rather than actually regulating purchases.
This is unique to FSH because prices are considerably cheaper than anywhere else, so one cannot compare with sales policies in US, Australia, Japan etc |
