I may be asking a really stupid question- but why is the 35cm Blue Jean Togo Kelly less than the 28cm Blue Jean Togo Kelly?

i think a souple kelly is several hundred dollars less than a rigide kelly, so the 28cm is probably a rigide and a 35cm a souple.
but that definitely seems very pricey for a 28cm !!

and correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought that gold hardware was more expensive than palladium. perhaps the 28 has gold (plated).

i saw this swatch and fell in love with it, and am trying to finalize my order for a birkin.

can you please please tell me did you like this color/leather on this bag?????????????? i thought the color was gorgeous on the swatch, but i have never seen it in a bag.

also what was the effect in matteness vs. shiny-ness, and did it seem like it would be stiff and hold up well in a 35cm birkin?

If Lucy isn't around, maybe I can help. I saw a Bolide 27 in Vermillion Chevre Mysore about a month ago. The color is very true to a tomato red. Unlike both Rouge Hermes and Rouge Vif, there are NO pink undertones at all. Much more orange in this color and it's very rich and bold. Chevre has a slight sheen that really complements the Hermes reds. If you like Chevre and like Vermillion, then it's a winning combo for you. HTH!

oh no, i wonder why your impressions of the bag are so different from my recollections of the swatch. the chevre coromandel in rouge vif is the red chevre i thought was so very bright, but i thought the chevre mysore in vermillion was almost a muted true red, slightly bluish. could it be possible that the sticker on the back of the swatch was mixed up? i was also very surprised that i liked the vermillion in mysore because i generally don't care for it in other leathers...

would you say that mysore is more matte than coromandel? is it too souple for a 35 cm birkin? any help is much appreciated! i'm on the waitlist and have a month to change my order before market in paris.

Hmmm, I'm going by a brief encounter with the bag. I'm not sure about the sheen but Mysore is going to have a less dramatic grain than coromandel. It's a wonderful choice for a Birkin - lightweight and supple but will keep it's shape for the most part. Vermillion was rich and bold, but not as bright as the Vif. It is a true red but I see more blue undertones in Vif and Rouge H. Really looks like a "tomato soup" red if that helps.

wow...i guess maybe we were looking at two different swatches. how very frustrating! in the best possible purse lust kind of way of course

can some kind soul conjecture as to what kind of chevre and what color red this is? i've asked someone on TFS and they said it didn't look like chevre since it was kind of floppy on the bottom. which makes me wonder if it isn't mysore. maybe in rouge h? i don't recall seeing that swatch, tho. any guesses would be highly appreciated.

ilovepositano, it's hard to tell exactly which leather that is since the resolution of the pic is so low, but it's not Chevre. It looks more like Taurillon Clemence to me.

I sent you an PM re: Vermillion Chevre. Greentea is correct about the color, sheen, weight, etc. I just sent you a few pics, that's all.
