Will be a wonderful experience to start with the H store in Ginza, then move onto the resellers for a look, never know what you might find

Hi ladies,

Hate it hate it hate it!!! It's really tough luck here in HK for me!!! Finally, when I found time to head to the H store at Lee Gardens...they were closed for stock take yesterday. Can you beat that?? So I decided to drop by today. But before I did so, I decided to call them up cos I read somewhere in the forum that there is a nice SA named Judy who could assist in looking for a birkin before I go down. Well, guess I should hv expected this...her question was weird...she first asked me where I came from and next told me that I have to be on waiting list cos all their bags are for VIPs only. And she said I should place my name on waiting list all over the world!!! WOW! That was really unexpected...Hence, I decided to try our luck at the H store at the Galleria. No offence, but the SAs are just crap!!! They simply ignored me. When I was actually very impressed with the service standards in HK and was telling my HK friends how great HK was, this H store is the opposite! Where I am, the SAs were really nice (yes I did buy a Kelly from them) from the moment i stepped in...
Anyway, I was so happy to see a birkin 50 in beige colour (pardon me for not knowing the name of the colour). So, my girlfriend asked the SA to show us the bag but the SA was very unwilling. We then asked was there another colour so they said there was a grey Epsom at the other corner. Unwillingly, they went to the men's corner to pick up the bag...We waited...they didnt know we understood cantonese and talked among themselves..."well, if they like to see then just show them lor"...and they went on and on among themselves...totally disregarding our presence...anyhow, I was very excited when I saw the grey one cos it was perfect colour and perfect for my hubby as he travels alot and he's a big guy so you guys can imagine how the bag fits him perfectly. Then I asked if this leather scratches easily...she replied:' any type of leather will scratch easily so you just have to take care!!!!' Gosh, what a reply??? Then we asked the price and it was HKD87,200.00 It was cheaper than where I am so immediately I said, ok I take it!!! From then on, they were a little nicer to us and told me how lucky I was to get this bag blah blah blah..Well well, I immediately took the opportunity to ask for any birkin or KP, she kept saying NO NO NO. I told her it was disappointing cos other stores will either present the bags and will make an effort to ask around too...she said:' well, actually the bags are all gone and our 4 yrs waiting list has closed blah blah (Tot Judy fr the other H store said I can place my name on waiting list in HK??!!!). Then awhile later, she came to me and said that she just asked the other H stores but they have none...well, I truly gave up on HK!!
Really ladies, if I know this was the service I get, I will never even step into the H store in the galleria...truly a big disappointment...
Well at least, I bought a really lovely grey birkin 50 in Epsom for my hubby and I cant wait to show him when I return on 12 Nov...

At least you bought a Birkin in HK, you did well. I had the same experience at Lee Garden store. The SAs totally ignored me while there is no other customers in the store. I was there only for a few minutes and I left because I think the SAs were very unpolite. I then met my DH for lunch in the same building and I told him how I got treated at the H store. My brother-in-law is a VIP in that store, so my DH told me that I can go back and tell them I am related to my brother-in-law. I did not even care to go back even though I have a very good chance to buy a Birkin.

hi laurentan! amazing! i am new at TPF and to read this thread makes it so exciting. i saw that 50 cm gray epsom birkin when i was in hkg last month... also the beige one you are talking about... and was thinking of buying it also... though they were a little to heavy to travel with for me/DH! i am sorry that they were not accommodating. i remember my SA was quite nice. they have a lot of stock on display in H central. try other stores! keep us posted on your adventure. you will find the right one!

Hello Ladies,

Yes I am back!! Why I took so long to reply??!! So much happened...My uncle was seriously sick and we were sort of grounded for a few days. Which means I didnt go Macau until the end of that week. Seriously, luck's not on my side in HK...Anyhow, while I was in Macau, nope I didnt see any birkin except for the 50 which I already gotten in HK. Then, my daughter caught a flu in HK 2 days prior to our departure (still having runny nose) and till date, has not recovered...

ANYWAY, LADIES!! I NEED YOUR ADVISE PLS...MY HUBBY IS IN HANOI NOW AND HAS GIVEN ME 2 CHOICES: a Birkin 25 in black croc (glossy) at USD27,000 or a Kelly 25 in deep red croc (glossy) at USD 21,000. I CANNOT MAKE UP MY MIND.

I wish the Birkin is BIGGER...like a 30 or 35 and I wonder 25 is way too small for my built...I am 1.63cm and slim..WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK??

WHICH ONE SHALL I GET OR SHALL I GIVE IT A MISS AND BUY IT IN TOKYO IN END DEC?

Get the Kelly! A 25 Birkin is very small and less practicle than the Kelly. Good luck deciding! (and I hope all of your family will feel better sooner - the flu really is a pain in the *ss)
