Welcome back bags! Wow, have the price dropped in Australia? Wasn't there a toile combo Birkin 30 in Sydney a few months ago that was $12k, and I would think toile can't be more expensive than regular leather... it must be my goldfish memory!
That's such a pity bags you couldn't see nice colours in Paris! When we were there, there were Kellys in yellow (I think it's soileil sp?), in green (definitely pelouse), red (not sure which one), some form of dark blue, but not all of them are standard kellys though - a couple of them are Kelly Lakis I think that's what it's called, with the 2 zipper pockets in front. Wow, but don't you agree 24 Faubourg is like a market? Even at 11am there were 10 or so people waiting for service at the bags counter already, and we're in a so-called "GFC"! ![]() Bags, did you go to the sale on the first day? Was it any good for you? Good luck ordering the strap Suzie! I hope it won't take long! |

I ordered my red kelly strap today and they said that they don't know how long or how much but they will call me when they have any info.
There was a bi-colour JPG cream/brown. A small brown croc pochette and a large (maybe 35) purple croc Kelly and a small (25) rouge box birkin? Oh, and also Donna Hay was in there with here brown (maybe 35) birkin, she was buying a wallet. |

I didn't ask but I would think it would be very expensive. When I was in the store about a year ago or so they had a Vermillion red croc in size 28 and it was AU$33,000 and that was before the prices were increased. Hope this helps, you could always ring the store and ask.

mudmud, I didn't go to the Paris sale. Had to change my plans because of work
Only got to Paris after the sale. I thought it was amazing the number of staff at the scarf counter and it was really hard to get customer service at the bag section. I loved the fact you could ask for a bag and see the results of a query on a computer. Pages of Kellys! No red definitely.Suzie, I ordered a Evelyn strap for a Kelly and it took about 6 months. Not sure if that's the same for a leather strap! |

Thanks for the update, Suzie! Donna Hay was in the store today? I wonder if it is related to Masterchef! (ok, it's a guilty pleasure watching that show lol she was on last night's episode)

^ I know I watch it every night and my kids IQ'd it while I was away. She was wearing almost exactly what she had on the show too. Black dress, tights and shoes but with her brown birkin. I thought the final would be between either Poh, Justine or Chris though. There is an article in this mornings paper on who the chefs of Sydney think should win and it's all for Poh.
bags to die for, that is a great idea, a leather strap for an evelyne. Can you PM me how much it cost? I might do that when my other one comes in. I can see how the canvas one could get a bit dirty eventually. |

Congrats for the purchases Suzie!! They all sound so nice!
What a pity bags! Maybe next time! The Paris sale was good but not as great as I hoped for. Also you don't get the orange boxes at all at the sale, so things just sold as it is, and everything goes into white paper bags. Plus not everything is at a huge discount. Some SLG are only 30% off. The scarves were quite a bargain though but not too many nice ones left on the day we went. |

I saw a photo of Donna Hay in her magazine with her brown birkin. I think she was in Paris at the time.

We were so lucky.. my mom and me were on holidays in Sydney and we walked into Hermes shop to look for a new belt for my dad.. 40 mins later, we left the shop with a Box Calf Birkin HAC Rough H 32 cm
This is the first time we ever found a birkin displayed in the window! give me few more days to post picture : )
