I don't know about the 30 but the Lizard 25 Birkin was about $10,600 when it was first launched early last year.

Just realized, I wasn't clear about which bag I was referencing.

I am specifically referring to the 25 Ombre Lizard birkin which was launched last year. The price was $10,600 in April 2008.

Found out:

25cm Lizard Birkin: HKD$89,000 = USD$11,470

Plus saw a woman with a plum colored ostrich kelly as well as a woman in a hideous fur lined coat but with a shiny 30cm brown crocodile birkin. I also went to see the Diamond Birkin. The experience was mind-boggling

. To be able to touch the Crocodile as well as touching the 15 carat encrusted lock and hardware.

That is nearly 1k more than the same bag in the US! H has not increased the price on the lizard Birkins in the US since Spring of last year - they are still $10,600.00

Good luck hermesbirkins! I've picked up a Birkin from Geneva Hermes store a few years ago so try your luck there! They might not have it on shelf but you'll have to ask an SA and they might "check for you at the back".

I know a 25cm croc nil. Kelly is $17,300. and a 35cm croc Por. Kelly is $29,400. I have never seen a 40 cm croc Kelly in the store.

Wow! Porosus croc. Kelly 35cm and porosus Birkin 35cm has ~$10000 difference??? Why, why, why????????? Is Birkin MUCH harder & longer to make it than Kelly or something??? or adding one more handle cost another $10K???
