Does anybody know yet when the sale will be in Paris this winter? I'm making plans for a January trip to Paris and I'd love to have it coincide with the Hermès sale, but I need to plan soon.

Is it always the last week in January?

I have a friend leaving for Paris this weekend and I BEGGED her to ask. I will report back when and if I hear from her.

Normally the official sale in France starts at the beginning of January (it has been always on Wednesdays for the last 10 years or so). But Hermes sale has been at the end of January for the past few years, if I remember it correctly.

For some reason, they always start the June sale on the same day as the official sale date (which is normally the last Wednesday of June).

They normally don't announce the date until the beginning of December, I think...

Someone correct me, if I am wrong!!

Mme CLMdeF, it's true that they dont release the news that early (which makes it hard for us to plan our trips!!)... =(

Im leaving for Paris in 2 weeks time.. So I'll try and see if i can suss it out at FSH!

pyrexia, i rem this year's sale was opened to the public. Saw quite a few reveals in the main forum- crazy Q! U need to be there like 4 or 5 hours before opening time, in order to be ahead of the Q.

It's prob a private sale for the first day or so, and they'll extend to the public =)

Liberte, are the sale dates the same every year? Maybe can try booking for flights between the last week of Jan and first week of feb?

I don't know the exact dates for Hermes but the french government set the official start date for Tuesday, January 13th so it can't be any earlier than then.

^^Are you sure? i've read that the sales start on the 6th of January in France which is a wednesday (it's always on wednesdays here).

It has been a Wednesday (normally the second week of January) for a while. So it should be 13th January 2010, but until the French government announce the date, you can't be 100% sure...

As for the Hermes sale, it was between 28th and 31st January this year and was open to the public on these days (I am sure there was a private sale in advance).

The sale dates change every year. The French government sets the broad sales dates for summer and winter sales, and the Hermes sales fall within this period. Some years they start earlier in January and some years later. I have heard rumors about the dates (around the third week in January) but we should wait a little longer for confirmation.

Normally the sales run 4 or 5 days, starting on a Wednesday or sometimes a Tuesday and running through Saturday.

The nation-wide sales in France are apparently scheduled to start on January 6, 2010.
(They start the 2nd Wednesday unless that's after the 12th, in which case it's the 1st Wednesday)

We went ahead and booked our flights for Jan 15-24, so I hope the Hermès sale falls within those dates, but I'm betting it will be Jan. 27-30, and I will miss it.

Those of you with contacts at FSH, we'll be eager to hear as soon as you have any news.
