www.leatherworldtech.com will have kits for you to look at,leather filler is colorless...some kits have precolored fillers.Just google leather repair kit...
Try a search for Rx Box Calf docride
I hope this is helpful

Hi Doc, i am thinking of buiying this porosus kelly in " anard vert" duck green, the seller called it. Anyway, form the "authenticate this" forum it's been diagnosed as dry. the seller sent it to Hermes spa back in sept/09 she said. there's scale seperation on the handle, and she said Hermes there's nothing can be done about it.

What will happen to it? will it get worse? can i do anything to restore the dryness? rub almond oil?ect .
is it worth buying?
Thanks so much Doc.. waiting for your reply before i decide.

IMO, of course over time it will get worse...I couldn't say how long that would take though, the main thing is you don't seem to have any lifting or breaking of scales or in between scales (but this is all I can see, perhaps you see something I can not see in your close up photos?) . To my eyes it's a fantastic bag at super price..However, if you can't deal with some imperfections then I would say pass. However, I think it's absolutely stunning.

Can't see the dryness from pictures. I have a very old handbag made of lizard skin, that is look very good, did not notice the problem of how dry the skin until I accidentally bend the strap, than it's cracked and broke like cardboard. But this is an extreme example.

I have worked on some very old crocodile bags,Sometimes , in between the scales where the leather is thinner you get some stretch (esp on very handled areas)and then if the skin is dry it can break.

However, if the skin has been cared for regularly,(not allowed to dry out) Crocodile will last generations. The rest of the bag looks good from here, but It is very hard to make a judgment call without touching and feeling the skin...

I love the price,adore the color,I like that it's vintage...also.

The best way to upkeep Hermes crocodile bags is to send them in for spa on a regular basis

Hi I bought a Kelly Pochette in evergrain leather stamped H. The bag has a strong smell of leather. I have Two Birkin bags (new) that are Togo and the leather smells like nothing Is it normal for an older bag (H stamp) to have a strong smell of leather? What to do???? Seems strange to me!
Please advise
Thanks
