Rouge ahsh is right. The "a" is pronounced with a schwa sound.

The scarf names can be tricky, too.
This is funny because one of the SAs I spoke with over the phone tried to correct me everytime. I would say "Seek-la-mon" for Cyclamen and she would correct me and said it's supposed to be "Sick-la-Man". I still call it seek-la-mon.

Hermes newbie here! I'm still coming up to speed with the names, the colors and the leather/hardware options!

Can someone help me with the pronunciation for Herbag? Is it pronounced Air-bag? What about the Fourre Tout?

Thanks!

Do they really pronounce "souple" as soup-lay ? The regular pronunciation would be more like soup-luh , not much emphasis on the "luh", but who knows how Hermes might do it LOL Rachel

Yes, it's soup'-leh -- with the 'leh' sound at the end almost as a whisper or very light breath.

GT, thanks for bringing that up! Now.. how do you pronounce it? Lol! Like "re-torn", "re-turn" or something else?

In the same vein, what about sellier? The second syllable, is it as we pronounce the 2nd syllable of Cartier?

^ Good question!! LOL! I thought it was Re-toor-ne

Sellier is just like the second syl. of Cartier.
