Can anyone help with the year of this scarf??? This is the auction on eBay. I'm selling it for my mother and people are asking for a copyright or signature of the designer and I can't find either. If anyone could help that would be excellent.

The scarf is Ludovicus Magnus (Louis the Great, ie Louis XIV) by Francoise de la Perriere. The design dates to 1963. Try looking in the lower right corner for the signature. It might not be copyrighted if it is an original issue form 1963

Rachel -

Thank you. I know that this is an original cause it was a gift from a friend's mother. She said she never wore it and it just sat in a drawer. I looked for the signature on the bottom right corner, but nothing. Would it be anywhere else? I know there is also a red scarf with the same design. I'm selling it and want to make sure all the possible buyers have the right info.

I checked my own copy of the scarf - it is unsigned & uncopyrighted, not unusual for 1963 !

Buyers beware, there are now confirmed copies of Grands Fonds (blue) and Kachinas (white). The care tag looks OK at first sight, however upon closer inspection it is not. Upon reception of the scarf, the quality and feel of the silk is a giveaway.

Here's a picture of a scarf I currently have. It's the fuchsia color Jardin Creole scarf. I think I have pics for the red Gloria Soli scarf as well, have to find it in my computer. But for the time being here's the fuchsia Jardin Creole. This particular one is from Spring/Summer 2006. Enjoy!

Can anyone help me identify this scarf? It's the only one I have that doesn't seem to have its name somehow incorporated into the design. TIA

thanks to everyone for all the information on this thread. i'm very much a novice when it comes to hermes scarves and could use some help on this one. when the scarf is a re-issue, do the old copyright symbols (or lack thereof) continue to be utilized on the re-issue, or are they updated? or is the only update the addition of a care label?

i love the Tourbillons that is on auction below, but there have been a few too many of them lurking around eBay lately and i question its authenticity. if anyone can offer an opinion, i'd appreciate it.

lolo - are you still seeking a 'gator Constance? i saw one on this link. it's a vintage piece in very good condition, too.

Hi Bete Noire, as far as I am informed, the copyright symbol is added to re-issues - this is one of the ways of determining whether you have the decades old 'original' or the newer reissue. However, the copyright mark can be hidden somewhere in the design. The scarf you list looks good to me.
