Hi Shopmom, I haven't ordered directly from Hermes because I doubt that they ship to South Africa, but I should ask them. I am going to the UK next month and hoped to pick one up at one of the airports. Maybe wiser to try to order. You're a bad influence, by the way... I'm really starting to think bags to go with the scarves!

Not only am I bad with bags, but I think I have also this in the wrong place on the forum - although I am getting brilliant answers. Sorry about that - too busy dreaming of Birkins. Your fault, Shopmom!

Oh goodness. You see what you've done to me Shopmom, about ten threads at once and my brain in a birkin. Sorry...

Yes, it is Mosaique by Grygkar. A depiction of Roman chariot racing teams . It is from a Roman mosaic

Chariot Racing Sources

There is one in another c/w for sale here

Hermes Picture Gallery

I can recommend Designer Silk Scarf or House of Scarves as quite reliable. Rachel

That's the one - I only recognised it from the one Designer Silk Scarves had up - which I had ordered last week by email while the owners were away. They have confirmed it's mine, yippe....(sorry).

Lolo! That's a beauty! I'm dying to find one as well as the Pavement scarf....I like the one they have on the site but I'd LOVE it vintage! Congrats! When do you think it'll arrive????

Shopmom I am having it shipped to my UK address; I have never yet lost a parcel shipped to South Africa but my normal approach is that anything vintage/irreplaceable is shipped to the UK, just in case. It means delayed gratification, but shipping out here takes 1 -6 weeks!
I will not see Mosaique until October, when I will go over to collect! (a nice bundle will be waiting!)

I'd watch out on Pavements, there are some fakes that look great in photos, but wrong when you get them & feel them & Designedr Silk Scarves has one , I'd snap it up, I know that Geoff is back from vacation ! Rachel

Rachel, I have to admit that I have pretty much had a big raid on Geoff and Penny. While they were away I kept adding to my list of demands. I got Jumping (have wanted it for ever) from them, it will be waiting for me when I get to Wales. With a whole bunch more - you bad gals also put me on to Pete at luxury-scarves and he has a wonderful selection.
(Sorry if my typing's bad, it's 3am here and I am searching for a big constance in alligator....)

Lolo.....thinking of getting that Tableau en Chasse that Pete has right now. It has a little wine stain on the upper right or left corner in the border....he says it's really not noticeable - I know with vintage scarves sometimes you get snags and pulls and spots....what do you think?

Shopmom, have you been reading my recent posts about dead poultry by any chance?! You actually gave me a bit of a shock because I was thinking of Chasse a Tir, which I bought from him a week or two back, and I thought OMG he's forgotten about me. I think Tableau makes an interesting "still life" but you know I'm the wrong person... it's horses all the way for me. Are you going for it (you've probably bought it in the last 3 minutes, if I know you!)
Please excuse any typos: it's 3.30 a.m. her

LOL! No, haven't bought it yet. It's on Hold for me while I await Palefroi which I just bought from him last week! I'm seriously thinking I should just buy Pavement from Designersilkscarf because I love it so and get over myself that it's not vintage!
