am so amazed with the amount of knowledge you have in regards to hermes, you really must be an affacianado of hermes. am actually new here the reason why i asked is i constantly joked my mom that her hermes is fake and she would denied it, the reason is the zipper of the pocket inside is ykk, immediately i assumed its fake since for bags like this they would have their own zippers with their labels but upon reading your blog it can actually be true. What i know that is that it a black 30cm birkin gold hardware she bought 13 years ago in france, together with her yellowish brown kelly also in gold harware. She actaully rarely used her hermes bags and only recently i found out about the hermes craze did i ask her about it.. another question can hermes repair their bags, since my mother's hermes locks somewhat had grew mold thus making it harder to open (can that happen) it also happend in the clip of her kelly bag strap. She only used it whenever we went to Europe or US and since it gets moist there and we will in Asia i thought it was possible is there anyways she can have it fixed? funny thing is my mom loves bags she tons of LV, Gucci, Blvgari Cartier and what not but she never took care of them often she would put each bag in different dust clothes and since her closets is not the big before in our old house she had to throw the boxes. Her habit of this has lessen since i constantly remind her to take of them and now she does, it may sound really weird but thanks in advance with we any inforamtion you give me and to all hermes bloggers thanks as well and i admire your dedication

Do you know anything about a "Newey" zipper in a vintage Bolide bag?
Apparently "Newey Bros Ltd" existed in Birmingham England until 1934.(Don't know if they made zippers)
I have been trying to research this and have sent emails to England. (The English are sooo good at archives, so maybe one day I will hear something). In the meantime, any info would be much appreciated!
They certainly did make zippers and all kinds of useful items such as a safety pin on a ribbon to keep shoulder straps of underwear together! They continued making hairpins until the 1970s but I can't find any info about their zippers at the moment. Will keep trying.

Apparently Newey were taken over by a company called Prym and as Prym Newey continued to manufacture "haberdashery and lingerie accessories" in England until the factory closed in 2001. Prym Newey Malaysia still exists but I don't know how much Newey Bros info they would have. Older Newey Bros archives are held in Birmingham city museum. Newey manufactured fastenings for specialised military clothing in WWII (airborne forces etc.) Irritatingly I can't find any zipper info.

Red face Tsako Bag Query

Hi all,

This is my first time posting so I'm not sure if I'm posting this question in the right place. The information on zippers and stamps is wonderful. Thank you for it. I was hoping someone could help me with information on the Tsako bag. I've seen one that is black with no lining or zipper as I believe is how they were designed. But there are also no inside pockets of any kind. Is this usual for this design? Also, the strip in the middle of the bag that keeps it closed has tan leather rather than black leather, so it contrasts a bit with the rest of the otherwise black bag. If any of you have a vintage one, do you know if this is normal?

Last question: what were the years of production for this bag? I'd guess 70s to 90s? I think this one is from the 80s but I didn't see any blind stamp. I really appreciate any information on the bag that you all might have because I'm thinking of buying the one I saw.
