Hello Everybody,
I hope you can help me. After reading every page of this thread, I have caught Tohu Bohu Fever! But I can't decide which I would love most. As my husband already warned, I can only pick one. I really want the one that would go best with my Graphite Ostrich B. Which out of the following colorways do you think would go best with my Birdie: Petrole, Aubergine, Framboise, or Cassis? Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Cassis has some grey in it, so that would be pretty, although you might want to see if the tones of the greys (brown tone vs. blue tone etc) work well together. Aubergine complements grey very nicely, IMO. I have this shawl and wear it with charcoal grey cashmere sweaters all the time. Petrole is also good although I prefer aubergine w/grey because it's a more modern look. Framboise I have not seen up close that much so I couldn't really say. HTH!

Aubergine! I have that one and cassis and I looked at framboise on the H.com site (though you know how the colors on there show up sometimes...
Anyhow, the aubergine would be GORGEOUS with it. Of course with that bag, anything would be gorgeous. |

Dear Chanelcamelia, with such a bag,you can choose any TB you want!
I've got a Cassis and a Framboise,I love them both. Some questions to help you: -First of all, which colors are available at store? -Is the place you're living sunny all year?In this case,I would go for Framboise, more "summer mood" than Cassis -What colors do you wear usually?Depends on your style too; If you need some pics,I would be glad to help you. |

Dear Chanelcamelia,I'm back from the general forum, and just discover your red Birkin(re-congratulations!),I would like to say that cassis would be perfect with your both bags(reglisse-a deep brown-is beautiful with red,and there are touch of red, orange and etoupe in the shawl)
Hope this helps! |

elle tee: Thank you for confirming that Cassis has some gray in it. I was trying to squint really hard to see but by my monitor's screen the stripe on Cassis just looks black. And I like that Aubergine goes well with gray. hhmm.. very hard choice! And yes, you have helped me alot!
![]() irishlass1029: Aww thanks IL! It looks like purple goes really well with gray. I like that Cassis has a gray stripe (as confirmed by elle tee) but worried that the brown colors in it would look off with gray? anilouann: I don't know which colors are available at the store. I wanted to figure out which to shoot for before asking my SA to do a search. Framboise is the only easily assessible one right now because it is on the website. I do live somewhere sunny but I might be moving to somewhere not so sunny. laugh. But that is still up in the air and dependent upon my husband's job. The colors I usually wear are: gray, camel/khaki/tan, cream, black, brown, red, and pink. My style is pretty preppy casual (most days) and when dressed up more traditional with a modern/clean aesthetic and mostly conservative. ooohhh pics would be lovely if it is not too much trouble! And thanks for the re-congratulations! doing that reveal was fun! ![]() update: at this point, I've ruled out petrole! but am wondering if I should include gris into the mix? or is that too light for the graphite birdie? ack.. so hard to decide! maybe I should order the framboise (online seems to have a better return policy than in store) at least to test and see if it will work? I just hate having to return anything if it doesn't work out. My concerns with the choices are: 1. Will the brown in Cassis clash or look weird with the graphite bird? 2. is aubergine really really purple as in the pics or more muted irl? 3. is framboise too mustardy gold or yellow? 4. is gris too light gray? not dark gray enough? or too washed out/bland compared to the other cws? And a big to you guys for helping me out. Your thoughts are very important to me and your help is so very appreciated!!

Okay, I only have the aubergine and the cassis, but as you can see, they are VASTLY different. This picture seems to be a true representation of the colors. Aubergine is just that, eggplant. It has purple and grey and blues that look blue with blue or grey with grey. It's cooler. The cassis is a lot of reds and oranges with a light brown throughout - not what I would call grey, and some magenta/pink.

Oh MY GOSH! that clears up so many questions! Thanks so much IrishLass!!! You're totally right, the Cassis is more light-brown and Aubergine is much cooler, indeed!
You have given me the answer! I'm going to call my SA and see if he can find me an Aubergine TB! with your photo, I am now SURE that it would be quite lovely with my Graphite B. I am in debted to you! ![]() ![]() ![]() hopefully my SA can work miracles and find it! (crosses fingers) |

Thank you everybody for your highly valued input, thoughts, opinions, advice, and *help*!!! I'd like you to know that an Aubergine Tohu Bohu GM Cshm Shawl is on its way to my greedy lil hands
![]() ![]() ![]() Of course, my DH overheard me on the phone doing a "charge send" and proceeded to snort and make a comment, "Honey, your OCD for Hermes is on overdrive." hehe... I feel very naughty but with H.. that doesn't seem to stop me! He's right though, I think I need help.

you are very lucky chanelcamelia! I think it is very hard to get a TB from any store since they are long gone (at least that is my impression)...I did see the framboise on the us H site though.
modelling pics please !

Gosh! forgot to check this thread! my bad.. sorry!
Firstoff, I'd like to thank all you lovely ladies and especially Irishlass for your bountiful sage advice. I am forever in your debt! ![]() ![]() Update: Yes, I got the TB in Aubergine and it matched my birdie just beautifully!.. but unfortunately.. it did not match me! The colorway made my skin look sallow and pale. sigh. so I had to return for store credit and although I vowed to save for when I find another shawl that will match, I ended up using most of the credit for 4 very cute and lovely key ring charms. pig, ladybug, horseshoe, and lion. these lil guys to bits! But I still vow to find the right shawl and when I do.. will post pics!PS. lovely64, my SA said there are 3 Aubergine TB's in US and 2 Gris TB's. If you're interested, can your local SA have them transferred to your store? HTH! |

Dear Chanelcamelia,I don't want to be boring, but really,if you love TB shawls, you should try Cassis,as I wrote you in my last post,it could match perfectly your both bags("touchs of orange, red and etoupe) and is really warm for pale skin(as I am!).
Anyway, congrats for your new goodies! |
