I do Yoga on my own with a Korean Yoga DVD. I've never been to a class Mainly cause I live in the middle of nowhere. I use a Korean DVD because I don't know the language it make me pay attention to the instructor on what she is doing and keeps me from getting distracted by other thoughts.

Have you looked into joining a gym that has yoga classes?
We belong to the YMCA(in N. Cali) and they have yoga as well as body flow included with the memebership. I love body flow, best class ever!!

I've been studying yoga for years. I'm not a super flexible person, but I do enjoy it. I'm an "older" devotee. Anyway, I just started doing it alone in my home, to complement my class. I began by just saying to myself: you don't have to do an entire practice, just sit and meditate for awhile. Then it was: just do five minutes of yoga. Just do some downward facing dogs...then some bridges...then add a little stretch here and there. It is quite addictive. I enjoy my home practice, but it took me about 6 years to get to this point. Now, I still go to class...but I find it annoying sometimes, having to deal with the personalities and the chatter of people, and having to go at the instructor's pace instead of my own. Interesting!

I do yoga in spurts of classes or on my own or through videos. It's harder to do it alone at home because I tend to require direction for the next movements. Classes are expensive, and gyms are busy. Perhaps looking for really nice gyms that have a premium price, but allow you to go to workout as well as classes?

about a year ago, i did yoga pretty consistently a couple times a week. i would do one yoga class a week and then twice a week i would do a podcast (you can find them free on itunes) that wasn't that bad. normally my problem with doing it at home with a dvd or something is that i get distracted, and i never feel 'in the moment'. its nice when you listen to a podcast because each one is new and so you really do have to focus so you know whats going on, whereas with the dvd, you know whats coming if you've seen it before...

its totally different when u go to a class. i try to get to classes 2ce a week, and i do my own practice at home as well (im sort of a yoga junkie and totally wish i could devote even more time to it) for me, the dvds and classes at the gym dont work. they seem to focus more on the fitness aspect of it and not the true principals of yoga and meditation.

if you have a hard time creating you own routine, yogajournal.com allows you to create your own sequence and print it out. add some inspiring music to ur ipod and ur set

I do yoga by myself. I force myself to in the mornings because it's too expensive for me to keep getting classes.

It's really a matter of forcing yourself lol.

I'm not good at motivating myself to do yoga or any kind of exercise much on my own. I need the surroundings of a class to motivate me.

I do yoga from home to Inhale with Steve Ross. It's on the Oxygen Network in the morning at 5:00am CST. I record them so I can do it on my own schedule.

I love yoga. I used to go to the yoga classes at DH's gym (LA Fitness), but for $25 I can also get a yoga pass for all the yoga classes at my Uni's gym. I was pretty regular last year, but this year I've crapped out some and am running on the treadmill more often. Mostly cos I only have 25-45 minutes at the start of the day to get a quick workout in and going to a yoga class requires at least an hour.

I do stop in the middle of the day occassionally to do a few down dogs, planks, and warrior poses though. Helps me relax and stretch. I sit at a desk all day, and if I couldn't do that, I'd be stiff as a board!

I've found that looking up poses on youtube have been useful for me to get tips on balance poses, such as crow which I've been working on for a while now.

$15-20 per class is just too much for my wallet. So I'd always make sure I'm close to a gym that has yoga classes included in the membership.

Do you have any recommendations for a podcast? I looked up yoga and they have a bunch.
