Ah yes, some mentioned the expense of yoga. My gym membership is $70 a month. In my area, yoga classes range from $18-$25 per class although if you buy a class card, the price goes down but not by much. It can certainly turn into an expensive habit. At least it's a healthy one.
ah - that's the best money you'll ever spent. Not only you will be healthy, you will look fantastic. Have you noticed how yoga people sort of glow??? My grandmother used to say ( and she was a woman of few words, vary rare....) 'a lady needs three things. Good shoes, a good bag and good posture.' I think we have the bags covered in this section....most of us do ok on the shoes. the posture bit is sorted with regular YOGA
LadySarah, yes, I agree. It's great for my body and soul.
Baby Chanel, I am not a video person. I have quite a few exercise videos that go unused simply because I need the atmosphere and the vibe of a class setting. I love taking classes, not just yoga but other classes at my gym like Body Pump and Kickboxing!
Ah ok. I love doing videos at home and find myself enjoying it more in the comfort and privacy of my home, lol.
Isn't it so funny how we are all different? I need the motivation, the teacher, the music, the surroundings to get me to work out. Of course I do enjoy activities on my own such as power walking and running.
I also enjoy the odd yoga practice at home. I don't do it with a video as I find that's quite distracting ( no dristi you know...) I use a sequence my yoga teacher gave me, which I have now pretty much memorised. She is going to give me another one soon. I always go to a class as well, at least once a week. Actually I like to join courses...
I haven't done my workout in a few days, been so incredibly and exhausted with mid term exams and papers... today is my first free day in 2 weeks and I'm still in bed, lol. Someone motivate me to go do yoga!
mmm tough one - I don't know where the motivation boutique is.... I do know though that if I miss too many yoga days I turn into a monster. At least that's what my husband says... so move away from the computer and on your YOGA mat - NOW
I'd love to try a class...I have a temper and a few people have told me it would help with that
go for it - what have you got to loose? ( but your temper so to speak...) Having said that I don't think one class would be enough to see any difference. Best to join an 8 week course or similar. There are some really good ones in London and in LA. It might seem like a big commitment but the results are usually outstanding!
Babydoll did you manage to do your yoga practice? Tomorrow I'm doing a restorative Sunday practice....
Yes I did! I just got up right after I saw my post about feeling lazy, lol. Been doing it every other day alternating with strength training and more intense workouts, that's my routine and it works for me
