Default Whole Foods

Anyone love to shop here?

I love this place.

I'm a crazy organic, nautural food junkie.

I looooooove their sushi...but I guess that would vary by store. I had some last night and it was as good as any sushi I've ever had at a Japanese restaurant!

Otherwise, I like Trader Joe's better :)

I've been there many times when I lived up north. They don't have them where I live though. I do have a Trader Joe's though and love love love it!

My favorite store is called Earth Fare though. It is very much like WF.

Maybe I'm not making good enough use of my local Whole Foods... What do you guys usually pick up there (that you couldn't get elsewhere?) --because it seems like all I ever really get there is sushi and some baby oat cereal for my twins that I couldn't find anywhere else... I get all my health nut stuff at a local market called Henry's and my fun foods at Trader Joe's, but I'm actually only about 2 minutes away from Whole Foods; I just never seem to consistently shop there... but maybe I should

I go about two or three times a week to buy fruit, veggies and fish. I also buy bread, cereal and water there.

I pretty much live off of their prepared foods section. I don't cook so I eat at least four meals a week there.

I love the store but want to warn you that just bc it's in Whole Foods doesn't make it great! Make sure you're reading the labels :)

Whole Foods is 2 blocks from us so that's where we do the majority of our shopping. Convenience wins over every time.

I am a Whole Foods junkie! I really like their private label (365 Organic) products. We use their olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pasta, frozen tortellini, roasted garlic pasta sauce, sorbets.... everything! They offer good value and quality compared to other markets here in NYC. I also like their shampoo and conditioner, it's really cheap and smells great. Their produce is generally fresh, I like that the butcher has a wide selection of cuts and is generally knowledgable, plus they stock several kinds of ground meat (lamb which is our favorite, multiple % of beef, veal, turkey, buffalo, etc). I also get their prepared foods for lunch all the time. Oh and their bakery is great, and they make a pretty good baguette.
Also, the WF stores in NYC are big and airy compared to most other supermarkets that I've been in, which I really appreciate. When I walk in to a dingy D'Agostinos and pay NYC prices for food, it really feels like highway robbery! At least at WF, the staff is helpful, the quality is nice, the store feels clean, and you can sometimes get a bargain (esp. on tea!).

I'm a 98% Trader Joes shopper although there are some items I cannot find anywhere else except Whole Foods like my organic japanese panko crumbs.....

I really enjoy WF - it's only about 10 minutes away and really should frequent it there more often. It's outrageously expensive in terms of produce though.....I can get organic fruits and veggies at TJs for half the price (aren't they both owned by the same company?)

Otherwise, I think WF is just fabulous. I get relaxed just shopping in there...but I'm sure it would be super duper expensive if I changed all my food shopping from TJs to there. Besides, I don't think WF has as many interesting foods as TJs....?

I actually hate going to Whole Foods because it's always so crowded and I get annoyed really easily in grocery store crowds. The parking lot annoys the hell out of me too. However, I LOVE their sushi, so I put up with it. It's always fresh and I like that I don't have to deal with ordering it like if I went to a restaurant to pick it up. I also buy the little containers of mixed berries there. Otherwise, nothing else really.

There is another Whole Foods that is a little further from me that I like better because it's bigger and has a much better parking lot, but I have to fight suburban traffic to get there, so it's one annoyance or another.
