I love whole foods becuase you know where your buying from. all of their foods are local they go to extremes to supply as many local products as they can they also have extremely high standards for their organic foods if you ever get the chance have them take you on a tour I know sounds lame right but you learn so much about their standards and the products they carry that it makes you want to shop their all the more.

Default hey,let me tell you how to wash vegetables

hello.i am alan.from lookchem.let me tell you how to wash vegetablesVegetables on a large number of pesticide residues, if not clean, then long-term consumption on people's physical damage is very great. In fact, we all know that truth, But who will wear a microscope whenwashing Vegetables ? many people put some chemical meterial to wash, but also can't wash clean . And we can not give up the freedom to eat vegetables
Now I introduce a solution: add some baking soda, then soak vegetables with 5 to 15 minutes, then rinse several times ,so can wash away the pesticide on vegetables, come on ! Let's eat clean and flash Vegetables.

I love the Whole Foods in our area...the Trader Joe's in comparison is too crowded with horrible parking and just makes me ANGRY and stressed whenever I go there, LOL. So, it's Whole Foods! Great customer service...I had been reading up on raw foods awhile back and just went up to a SA in the cheese section (I Love Cheese) and asked him to point out the raw milk cheeses.

Wow! He spent about 10 minutes with me 1:1 during a super busy time in the store going through each of them and explaining about their origins and flavors/textures. I was completely blown away and impressed.

And in the seafood section...these guys are a riot! So happy and helpful. I will walk up to the counter admiring seafood and one of them will say "hey, what's on the menu tonight?" I'll say hmmm, not sure and they will have a few great ideas ready for me. I love seafood...I'm sold!

I also am inspired by my bro and SIL's lifestyle of gluten and dairy free for their kids' sake (3 under age 5 with Celiac). Love trying the soy milk, soybean or rice pastas, you name it!

Whole foods is great, they sell food that I'm actually excited to eat. I wish they offered non-organic options in some of the produce though. I would also probably go broke if I bought all my food there.
Trader Joe's is good and affordable, but it's a terrible place to shop for groceries if you are actually trying to cook from a recipe. Most of their food is pre-made and it's hard to find just ingredients.
I'm also a big fan of Henry's marketplace, but unfortunately they don't have any up here in norcal.

I like Whole Foods but usually just go in there for a few special items, or if I forgot to get something at Trader Joes--it's a little over my budget as a grad student (we call it "Whole Paycheck"!).

::raises hand:: WF addict here. I go weekly for fruits and veggies and other odds and ends. They are the only place I know of with BBQ Tofu I love their bulk grain section too, way cheaper than buying it in a box. Their meats are always fresh, the sushi is great. I rarely go to the regular grocer anymore. Got some great cheese the other day because the SA was willing to open the package for me to taste test.

Three "CONS" week nights at dinner hour the check out lines down the aisles, they don't always have my favorite vegan cookies (better for my budget, i guess) and they are planning on moving the location of the store.

Oh and I also support their concept- the fact that if they find a company of inproper practices or not meeting their standards anymore, they will stop carrying that company's product. I believe that happened last year with Arrowhead Mills (don't quote me on the company.)

Sorry, not me - I call it Whole Paycheck.

I have several locally-owned markets with great meat and produce at good prices. I like to invest my money in local merchants.

i like Whole Foods but hate the crowd! the WF nearest to me is ALWAYS packed...even the "express check out lane" is packed! I don't like to do my grocery shopping when it is packed or crowded, it makes me feel anxious..lol..i do like the organic dog food/treats that WF sells though..very quality things for my beloved doggie!

I avoid whole foods unless I have time mid-morning or mid-afternoon. The crowds are insane here in whole foods and trader joe's in NYC. I was amazed when I went to cali and there was no line at whole foods or trader joe's.

I love the atmosphere of Whole Foods! We are going there this weekend to buy some chicken to cook for the little one. Though not every item in their produce section is organic, you have to look carefully or you might end up getting something that is not.

I hear you on the "whole paycheck" thing. I often spend almost $20 to buy sushi for lunch. It's actually cheaper if I order from a restaurant AND leave a tip for to go.

I shop there about 3 times a week. They built a new huge one near my house and the crowds don't get bad, except on weekends. I love their stuff. I feel like I am not eating the garbage that they sell in the regular grocery store. I was spending a fortune at WF but I have tried to scale back on the pricey specialty items like baked goods and cheese.

I love whole foods and so sad a nearby one just closed.

Just yesterday I got the MOST DELICIOUS EVER marinated feta cheese. It is soooo good. I tried a sample in-store and of course had to buy that along with the little whole wheat mini toasts they were sampling it with!

Just wanted to post about it, it is too good not to share!

I just got back from my second trip there this week. While I love the things they sell, the parking lot is horrible and the store is really too small to accomodate all the shoppers.

It seems to me the worst time to go is Friday from noon onward.
