Talking Who has a treadmill??

Well, I've finally got my back room/workout room completely finished and now Im in the market for a treadmill. I'd like it to be under $500.00(is that possible?) and one that will last more than 10 workouts.

I'd love to hear your suggestions, even if the price is a little higher than my so-called(I can always talk SO into shelling out more) budget.

TIA!

I can find out what we paid, I know it was in the thousands. I love it and in between the gym and working out at home, it does the trick. I think you can find treadmills that are under $1000 that would be suitable. How often would you use it?

I have a Horizon Fitness one that I bought for about $535 (It retails for $1,200). It's reconditioned and purchased directly from Horizon Fitness. It came with the full factory warranty and so forth. My BF,my daughter and I all use it every day and I have never had any trouble with it. But if you want to try it out before buying there's a nice fitness equipment store by my house. It's in Canyon Pointe shopping center on Charleston, next to Pei Wei which is close to Red Rock Station.

Between my SO and I, it would get used everyday, if not 2-3 times a day. I've pretty much come to the conclusion, with the little research I've done in the last 30 or so minutes, that e would have to pay over $1,000 for the weight capacity we need.

So, with that said, Im open to any suggestions you have lol. I figure since it would be used all of the time, it would be worth it to buy a really good one. We were just trying to budget because we want to buy some other equipment also. Looks like e might have to buy the treadmill now, buy one other piece of equipment, and save the rest for later.

Anyway, if you could give me the make and model of your treadmill, that would be awesome!

I know exactly where you are talking about. Ill look into a reconditioned treadmill, sounds like that would be more in the budget range, and as long as it works, Im all for it!

I bought a proform treadmill, and I really like it. There are drawbacks, though. I've heard of a lot people having problems with them breaking, and the user has to weigh less than 250lbs. I'd really like to upgrade mine to a more professional model. I never thought of buying reconditioned. Sounds like a great way to get more bang for your buck.

It seems like the majority of treadmills have a weight capacity of 300lbs. Ours would have to be at least 350, my SO is a big hunk of love. The weight capacity is really whats going to be expensive, we would need one thats well made, hence more expensive. Not to mention, I like to run, and I was surprised when I read that all treadmills arent made for runners!

This treadmill thing is complicated.

I have a Life Fitness and I know it's a little over your budget but I researched on www.consumerreports.org and on http://forums.runnersworld.com/eve/f...rm/f/974106038 before I bought one. I do love it and I'm in Vegas too so it's a lifesaver from the heat

Thanks! Yea, we usually walk everyday, but the heat is starting to get unbearable. Last summer we got a gym membership, but this summer we have our house together, and decided to make ourselves a little gym of our own

Hey you know what else? You may want to call someone at LVAC as they tend to switch out their equipement quite often and sell it at a great price. One of my best friends is the assistant director of fitness for all 5 clubs and I can find out who to call if want....just let me know!! My other friend Dori is a personal trainer and works out of the Sahara club. She bought the entire Life Fitness circuit, a treadmill and two steppers from them the last time they sold a bunch of stuff! She paid pennies on the dollar!

My treadmill is the Horizon Fitness CST 3.5 but I don't recollect what the weight capacity is. It does have a ton of programs, heart monitor, incline and all that stuff that I never use.....hehe....I just press "Quick Start" and off I go! My next purchase will be a recombant bike cuz we have back issues in our house.......bummer!!!!!
I would so appreciate it if you could get that number for me! That would be GREAT!! TIA!

I have had a Nordic Track C1800 for about 6 or 7 years and it has been great. I'm sure they don't make this model anymore but at the time it was around $700.00. We got it at Sears. I'm also not sure of the weight capacity but the brand has been great with lots of use.

I have a Nordic track as well. Back when I got it, 2001 maybe - it was around a thousand new but it was a sears return & 1/2 price. It still works great today with several family members using it. There was a small glitch with it a few years in but my husband fixed it. A friend of mine purchased a used one from a gym at a huge savings around that same time which is also still working.
