Default What's the best RELIABLE pedometer?

I'm on summer break right now, but I still wake up at the butt-crack of dawn like I'm used to for when I go to work. DF gets up at the same time, which helps me not hit the snooze and go back to sleep.

Anyway... since I'm up, I've put my time to walking. I'm hoping to lose 10-15lbs by the time we start school at the end of July. I like my route, but I'm not sure how far I'm walking... the last time i used a pedometer was nearly 5yrs ago, and I have no idea where it is now. Plus, I noticed its count was starting to go bad. I'd take 10 steps and it'd say 17 or sometthing like that.

I'd like to aim for those 10,000 steps the magazines are always talking about.

Can you ladies recommend a good/accurate pedometer?

I got one from Brookstone when I worked there. As long as you calibrate it correctly the first time you use it it works really well! If you're worried about doing it when you get home, the SA should help you out right there in the store. (It's easier to have another person's help because you will need a tape measure to measure your stride length.)
