Default What is YOUR gym routine + motivation?
As above! This is like a survey so include your schedule like the days you go during the week and for how long each routine. Also, do you go at night, in the afternoon, or morning?

For those of you on a machine for 10 min or more (especially an hour or over, what's YOUR motivation to stay on it besides listening to music?

And for BONUS, what is the favorite part of your routine and which excercise do YOU believe give you the best results.

this is a good idea :)

I go to the gym 4 times a week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. (I do it like that to give myself breaks in the middle that way I don't feel overwhelmed and stick with it).I go at night everyday that I work out - usually after 8 or 9 that way less people are there.
I usually do about 50 minutes of cardio (30 minutes on the treadmill - HIIT or speed walking on high incline- and 20 minutes on the elliptical). Then I do about 10 - 15 minutes of strength training - usually lunges and squats because I like to work on my legs.
I do usually get bored on the treadmill, especially when I'm speed walking on a high incline, because it can get tedious. Whenever that happens I usually just put on a really fun song that makes me happy or one that's sexy/girly that way I feel motivated to continue.
I guess each part of my workout serves a different purpose so they all give different results. I always want more toned legs so they all pretty much revolve around that. I lose the most calories on the treadmill esp. when I'm walking on the high incline so that makes me feel better esp. if I ate too much that day.

I do my cardio/light weight work outs Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, I do 30 mins on the elliptical varying the intensity and 20 mins leg press, extension and curl, and free weights for arms. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do 60 mins of yoga or pilates (matwork).
Everyday I do lunges, squats, the 100/criss cross and I spend ages stretching.
I do my workout whenever it fits into my schedule, if I try to work out at set times I can't keep it up.
I hate cardio, loathe it! The only reason I do it is so I'm not tragically unfit, last year I wasn't working out and I'd get puffed from walking up like 4 stairs I listen to audiobooks while I do my cardio and cover the timer, it makes the time fly by.
The results keep me motivated, I feel energetic, toned, I sleep better and I overall just feel healthier.
I really like yoga and pilates though, I look forward to those workouts, especially pilates, the results are remarkable so it makes it easy to find time to do it.

i used to work out 5 days a week with my trainer, mostly doing weight training and sometimes pilates, usually around 1 hour.

but lately i skip the workout cause i got sick alot, try my best to do at least cardio now...60-90 minutes fast walking! always makes me feel so good and happy...that the least i can do to build my stamina after not doing the weight training for 4 months! i dont push myself too hard, if i could do 2-3x a week cardio it would be nice..

i do my work out always at afternoon around 4-5pm, usually when my fave show is on: E news!

my motivation: to keep up the goodmood at all time (i need that cause so unhappy wirh the city i live in) and to achieve a body like kelly ripa (yummy!)

the best exercise that gives the best result: weight training!!! my weight has been stabil, i have 2 kids now and feel my body is better than ever compare to when i was in high school!

I work out about 4 days a week. I do at least 30 mins of cardio and switch it up between treadmill and eliptical machines. I also do 20-30 minutes of strength training either upper body or lower.
I rotate gyms so I don't get bored. Mostly I watch TV or listen to music. I normally go during lunch or sometimes after work. I also workout because it helps lessen my depression and headaches.

I do alot of squats and lunges and weights on most days.

I go to the gym probably 5-6 times a week.

Have been out of shape for a while now! It's fully grating me! Am trying to get back into shape!
Usually work out after work - Run for about an hour or so and FINALLY have started CrossFit which is already ripping my body apart but am loving it! Doing this 3 times a week - each session is about an hour. Then run on the days that I don't have CrossFit. Motivation? Just to maintain a good body weight so I can fit into my clothes and it helps when your CrossFit trainer is HOT, so you always turn up!

Wow, this is so me! Except I'm just barely past your "before." I hate cardio (though I'm doing the Couch to 5K program and that's still keeping me interested) and often listen to audiobooks just to get through it. And I really like yoga and Pilates! I recently started back with Pilates, actually.

this is my gym routine.
i work out at a private club that happens to have tv's on each machine, and a very cozy lounge that serves amazing cheesecake about 5 feet away. SO, my friends and i watch a show or two on tv while we do some cardio...and then eat cheesecake.

sometimes we swim as well. lol. but its never for very long.

i do strip tease and pole dancing classes as well.

I did the couch to 5k as well! That's the first thing I did when trying to get fit again, it's a great program.

I go to classes with my mom every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. They're each 1 hour classes and every class is different...kickboxing, aerobics, toning, step, etc. If I had to go to a gym I wouldn't push myself so I need to do classes with an instructor telling me what to do.

Sunday-Off
Monday nights- Target Toning class- warm up with cardio then each class is weights focusing on different parts of the body. 1 hour
Tuesday morn- Yoga 90mins
Wed night- Target Toning Class
Thurs morn- Yoga 90mins
Friday night- Treadmill, intervals between quick walking on high incline and running on barely no incline. 45mins
Kasier(sp?) weight circuit. 20 mins
Sat morning- Kitchen Sink Class- Step class that incorporates light weights and some dancing.
Our treadmills all have t.v's in them too and I go the same time every Friday so I watch Say yes to the Dress on CC with my music on.
I really need group classes to keep my self focused and motivated. If I'm on the 'mill and surrounded by super healthy people running for an hour straight I get down about myself. I love classes because no matter what your never the best or the worst, and the age range and size range is all across the board.
