I just heard about it today when I got my face laser treatment. They just got the new equipment for this procedure.

I'm not 100% sure but I think they quoted me $1,500 for five treatments. She said the treatments take about an hour each.

I was always wondering ~ let's say you had a regular massager that you bought and used it at home everyday.......would that help get the same results?

This system looks like it uses heat & vacuum and tissue manipulation that evens out the skin ~ that's the exact wording from the brochure.

Here's the website from the brochure: www.velashape.com

I'm not convinced enough that it really works to spend money on it.

I just got a really great deal from the spa I go to. My first treatement (for my thighs and stomac) is next Friday. I'll let you all know how it goes. :)

Okay so I got the treatment done on my abs and thighs last Friday.

Results after 1 treatment:
Abs - no measurable change but the placebo skinny effect is nice
Thighs - lost 1/2 inch on each thigh!

Hope this helps. I'm getting my 2nd treatment done this Saturday. I'll keep you posted once again.

^^1/2 an inch on each thigh. That's awesome. I have a few questions. Did it hurt at all? Do they treat the same area's at each treatment? What does it cost? Is the reduction permanent?

Well what hurts to one person might not hurt at all to another. I had no problem with the pressure, heat and massage of the instruments used but the technician said that other people have nearly jumped off of the table.

My treatment sites were my lower abs and my thighs and yes, they treat the same areas each time.

You pay for per site you want treated. Generally prices range from $200-$500 per treatment per site. They say optimal results are after 4-5 treatments and most packages are sold by 5-treatment bundles per body part.

The reduction is supposed to be permanent but you can do follow up sessions (one every other month or so) if you see cellulite again.

I hope this helps!

^^ Yes, thanks for all the info. I might consider this once I get closer to my goal weight.

I think that's really the best way to do it. I've been a fitness instructor for around 13 years and what I'm having worked on are the pesky things that just won't go away no matter how much I exercise and how well I eat (and how much water I drink for that matter). I don't think Velashape was intended for weight loss, just the fine tuning and stupid cellulite that won't go away! :)

Okay, here's the latest:

I just did my 2nd appointment on Friday the 10th. So far after 2 visits I have lost 1 1/2 inches in each thigh and 1 inch on my belly.

This time, however, it was a bit more uncomfortable and I have some bruising. The technician told me to exfoliate before I came in. I did and it make the machine really grab onto my skin a lot better. Better results but you really need to have a substantial discomfort tollerance. I wouldn't say it "hurt" but it wasn't any picnic either. I'd definitely say that the results are worth it though.
