Talking TPF Biggest Loser Challenge Thread #2...JOIN US!
We had been discussing starting a new Biggest Loser thread last May, and although our old thread gets bumped from time to time I think we need to start fresh!

And JUST in time for the HOLIDAYS!

Here are some things to remember:
  • The thread is to discuss our own losses, not just the show. If you would like to continue a discussion of the show here is the thread: The Biggest Loser Season 8 (starts sept 15)
  • Be respectful to others, as health and fitness can be a sensitive topic.
  • CELEBRATE your successes, seek support for your set backs and CHEERothers ON!
  • You don't have to be trying to lose weight to join in or post helpful suggestions. EVERYONE is encouraged to join in.
  • Weight In (WI) days can be any day of the week, but once per week is recommended.
Continued from Dawn's original thread here:
TPF Biggest Loser Challenge beings January 6th!!!! Join us!

ready...set...GO!

Sign me up!! I need to lose 60 pounds.

Weight loss plan-I follow a diet my doctor gave me. It's really what food I can eat and what foods I can't eat. I have a chronic illness so my diet was modified to my illness. It's high fiber/low carb kinda diet.

Exercise-Walk/Run 5 days a week.

Thanks AC.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with chronic illness while trying to lose. Don't be discouraged! As long as you are working hard and following your plan you are doing your best!

low carb is hard...I bread and it isn't really in my plan either unless it is whole grain. If they are carbs that taste good then I shouldn't eat them LOL!

We can do this Mree!

Thanks for making this new thread Amour!

About me: 26 years old (27 in 10 days!), 5'8", dress size 14, jeans size 14-16

Goal: I'm not really sure to be honest. I think I'd like to get down to a size 8-10 and/or lose another 50 pounds so I can say I lost 100 pounds because I think that would be such an awesome accomplishment.

Eating plan: I'm not on a diet but I am watching what I eat. I try not to deny myself anything but if I have a high calorie meal/snack I try to adjust the rest of my food intake for the day or next few days around that. I use Spark People to track my calories and I find that really helpful. They recommend I eat between 1200-1500 calories each day but I'm usually a little under that.

Exercise plan: I haven't been very consistent with exercise, which is something I need to work on. I try to run/walk at least 3 miles 3-4 times a week. I've done two 5K races and will be doing another one next month and I find that helps keep me motivated to run. I also do squats, jumping jacks, crunches and lunges in the morning and evening.

Hey everyone, I joined the last one but got sick as most of you know. Now that I am better and starting to feel like myself again I am going to be dieting. I will be starting on Oct. 25th since I am going on vacation before then which wouldn't be a good start :) My stats as of now:
I am 22 years old, 5' 3''ish maybe a lil shorted, about 240 lbs (yikes!)
My Goal:
I would like to weigh anywhere from 140-175 lbs (whatever I am happy with, I don't want to be too skinny, still want some meat on me, hehe) but I would like to be around a size 8-12 I guess? I don't remember ever being in those sizes.....
Eating Plan:
I basically go by calorie intake and kinda WW. I eat whatever so I don't binge eat on the things I love.
Exercise Plan:
Stationary bike, dumbbells, ab videos and other videos like yoga, pilates, etc...

I hope I really stick to it this time because I just feel terrible about myself. I don't feel close to my fiance because I just feel gross. I don't want to be intimate because I don't want him to see my fat body. I know it is bad butI have always been bigger and when I was younger I got made fun of alot which is why I think I have the por self esteem I have today :( So here is to the new, better Ashley

This is perfect - Thank you for starting!

I am trying to get over a hump and with the winter season upon us, this will help me get thru it.

I am 5.5; 159 (on a good day...lol) My goal is an additional 15-20 pounds. I have lost almost 50 over the past year and am completely stuck right now. No weightloss in quite some time.....

I'm a runner but this is my off season, as I can only really train on the treadmill, I'm in Chicago and it gets too cold for me to run outside most days.

I also love to bike and have a bike trainer we bought for winter training as well. So these are my forms of cardio, the biking helps my legs get stronger and my pace get faster, so I really enjoy it; knowing how its going to help me.
I lift weights 3 days a week and ab train 4 days a week.
I ran my first 1/2 marathon in August and I swear I am the only person who can train for a 1/2 and not lose hardly any weight...
I suffer from Thyroid Disease, but do take daily medicine, and I am the magical age of 39. So I have two strikes against me in the weightloss battle right now...

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and see how our pounds melt away...
Good Luck everyone!

I'm so in on this.

About Me: 23, 5'6, 197 lbs, currently size 14.

Backnotes: Have been on Weight Watchers since January of this year and have lost 32 lbs and gone from a size 18 to a size 14. But have recently lost motivation for it.

Diet: No soda, fried foods, or fast foods. I do allow myself one "indulgence" meal a week however where I can eat what I choose to. But it's just for that one meal.

Exercise: Currently it's sporadic. I work two jobs, one in an office, and one as a server in a restaurant. I do take both of my dogs for a walk each day, but other than that the only real exercise I get is when I'm walking at the restaurant each night.

Goal: To be down into single digit clothing size (ideally a 6) and/or to be around the 130 lbs mark. (whichever I feel most comfortable at). I would also like to have hit the 50 lb mark by January 6th which is the date of my best friends wedding.

I'm in!

Overall Goal:
To lose 50lbs (preferably in 6-8 months!)

Diet: Cutting out sugar and trying low-carb lifestyle, in addition to avoiding eating out. My weakness is junkfood so that's off-limits!

Exercise: Joined a walking club & planning on sticking to Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred daily in addition to her other workouts over the weekend.

Sunday check-in and weigh-in for me.

Lost so far: 26 pounds

I'm having some trouble with this pesky pound -- I keep losing it and gaining it back. Hopefully I can stay on track this week and leave it behind me for good. I'm on call for jury duty this week and I have to go in on Monday morning so I'm not sure what I can do about eating well. It's not a fabulous block and McDonald's is next door. I doubt they can provide us with a refrigerator for our lunch. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to serve the whole week.
