I started my weight loss plan 7 months ago and have lost 27 lbs so far. 6 more to go to get to my goal!

I'm 27, 5'3", Athletic/curvy build, pant size 4 or 6 (28), top size XS or S (XS is usually too small in the arms), currently 121 lbs

Goal: 115 lbs

Want to lose: 6 lbs

Weight loss Food routine: Counting calories; eating/drinking less sugar; 4-5 small meals per day; drinking lots of water

Weight loss exercise routine: Weights 3 days/week, cardio 3 days/week (elliptical)

*edit: trying to get pregnant, too. knowing me, I'll get pregnant JUST before I get to my goal weight...which is OK by me. At least I've made every effort to get in tip top shape for baby :)

Hello everyone, I've decided to join this thread! I seriously need some help and it is time to admit my weight has gotten out of control. I suppose any support I can get will help, even here

I've always struggled with my weight, but at this point I'd be happy to just be in a "normal" range. I'm really hoping I can start taking control and start living healthier and begin a new exercise routine I can stick with. I haven't exercised in a couple months so I'm a little nervous about starting over from scratch.

My info:

I'm 24, 5'4", Curvy build, size 18, top size XL, weight right now is unknown. Actually to be honest, the past couple months I've been too afraid to get on a scale- but I'm guessing it's approximately 220-230.

Goal: 140, size 8

Want to lose: 80 lbs. YIKES, I know

Weight loss Food routine: Stop eating out so much, and cooking more at home. Just a balanced healthy diet, no specific program or fad diet. Try to cut out "bad" things like white carbs, sugar, soda and replace with more fruits and veggies.

Weight loss exercise routine: Going to start alternating gym for an hour with walking for 30-45 min. every other day (until it gets too cold...then just gym indoors). At the gym I want to just start out with only cardio for a week or two to get adjusted then start mixing cardio & weights. I don't want to work out every day for now since I'm so out of shape, maybe 5 days a week is good to start?

I'm going to keep telling myself I CAN DO THIS!!!

Brief check in from me ... fortunately, my jury duty is going to be quite short the way it looks now. Both the district attorney and defense finished up today, and the court is closed tomorrow. We're due back in on Thursday at 10 am to start our deliberations. I'm thankful that my schedule will only be thrown off for a few days.

Hi everyone!! I would like to join in too!! I'm glad I found this thread.

About me: I'm 30 years old, 5'2, 132lbs, and dress size 6-8

Goal: My goal weight is 110lbs. I would love to lose my big belly and tone my arms. I hate my belly. It's my weak spot. That's the only place I gain weight. Not good. :( Hopefully I can do this by March.

Eating plan: I don't really want to deny myself with anything because I feel like I will just give up. I can't give up white rice and noodles. I'm Asian so I grew up with rice and noodles! LOL. Maybe I won't eat so much. No fry foods. I will eliminate sugar. That means no pop, no coffee, no cookies and no bubble tea (it's going to be hard because I love bubble tea) maybe once a week as a treat to myself if I stick to the plan.

Exercise plan: I can't afford a gym membership so my workout will consist of at home dvd's, weights, elliptical trainer, walking and jogging.

Hopefully with everyone's support I can do this.

Welcome to Ashy1, la6 and Deleckidesign!

Well I did my walk jog yesterday and my pilates, and ate well as well so feel great for that, another day in the right direction hopefully.
It has been really windy here, not typhoonal, but we live on the 23rd floor and the wind was howling all night long, and one window banging and creaking all night long. So my sleep sucked, or lack of it. So woke up really tired this morning, but I still have to do my walk today. No excuses.
I bought a new pair of runners in the weekend and wore them for the first time yesterday so that was good.
Have a great day everyone xx

Hi all!

I know I'm a bit late, but I just stumbled on this thread and think its great!

About me: I'm 27, work part time, go to school full time, am 5'4" and 185 lbs. I carry most of my excess weight around my middle and in my chest. I'm a size XL on top and 12 on bottom (used to be an 18). I have been on Weight Watchers for about two years,with the exception of two months this past summer, when I gained back 15.

Weight loss total since beginning: 43 lbs.

Goal weight: 145-150, and/or size 8.

Need to lose: 35-40 lbs.

Nutritional plan: Weight Watchers-- for those who are unfamiliar, the program uses a points system, incorporating calories, fat, and fiber content, while encouraging healthy eating habits and physical activity.

Workout routine: 1 hour Gym (cardio) two mornings a week and 1 hour running outdoors (with walking breaks) once a week.

Fitness goal: I need to workout more like 4-5 times a week. I would like to be able to run a whole 5k without stopping. Right now I'm about half way there.

I look forward to hearing advice and helping others. Thanks in advance for the support, ladies!

So far, so good, relatively. Since this past Saturday, I've been eating very well in terms of calories and burning it off well. Official weigh-ins are Mondays though since the past weekend was more like some compensation for a rather average-bad week. :>P

Now, I will add much more water to my diet. Unfortunately, it probably won't be until later this week or next week until I add vitamin/mineral supplements and more fruits/veggies. I don't just want to lose weight and tone up, but I want to glow and be really healthy as well.

I have to decide on how I will work in a cheat or two per week if I'm going to have it.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. That's great!!! Way to go!

Deleckidesigns-Congrats on losing weight, that's fantastc! Hope ttc goes well for you. Good luck.

la6-Welcome. We are all here for support. I find it best to take it one day at a time. Slowing cut the bad foods out and before you know it you won't even miss them. I started slowing and it would out great. You can do it.

Laney2-Welcome. You can do it. It takes time, patience and determination. We are all here for ya.

Lori-Glad to hear that you won't be too disrupted. A friend just got grand jury duty and it's like three months.

Ashy1- You shouldn't deny yourself anything, you have to eat what you like but in moderation. if you want some noodles, have some, try healthier verisions or eat less of them. If I want a cookie, I will have one.

Buddy-You stayed on track, fanastic! Take it one day at a time, that's what I do.

Razberi-Welcome! Congrats on your weight lost, that's awesome. You are doing really good. You can do it! Take it slowly, I find doing things slowly works best for me.

Naga-I have been adding more water and I feel like all I do is run to the bathroom. But it does make me feel fuller and my skin is looking really good. I cheat once a week. Usually on Saturday's. I know I shouldn't but if I allow myself to cheat one day I am pretty good on sticking to my diet for the rest of the week. It's my little treat. I know I shouldn't do it but I can't help it.

delek- congrats on only having 6 more pounds to go! Great Job! I hope you can share some of what has made you so successful. If you do get PREGO before your goal weight then that is FINE! You just won't have to gain as much for the baby

la6- the first step if going to be facing that scale. If you don't like what you see it is OK! Just remember that if you don't make a change then it could continue to go up. You are doing a good thing for yourself and don't let that get lost in all the numbers. I originally wanted to lose 70 lbs. I am already 1/2 way there and I feel 500% better than I did before. It goes by quickly and once you adjust you will start seeing it as reward rather than punishment. I highly recommend you check out Weight Watchers Online. It is just eating what you would normally eat but in smaller portions and pushes you to make better choices (cooking spray instead of olive oil, etc). It sounds like you have a good workout plan, just remember that 30 minutes minimum of activity a day is best for you even if it is just walking.

Laney- Welcome! Jump in, the water is warm

Lori- Great! Glad it didn't take too much of a toll on you!

Ashy- Welcome! You can still eat your rice and noodles, just watch your portions! Push yourself to work on those problem areas in excercise and just try to workout a little each day. You will do great!

Buddy- I'm sorry the wind is keeping you up! I am a complete insomniac most of the time, so on days when I didn't sleep well or I wake up really early I've been working out right away and then taking a nap before getting started on work (I work from home). Or you could always just try wearing yourself out until you can sleep through a typhoon!

Raz- Welcome! We are just getting started, so you aren't late at all! I am also doing WW and I think some others are as well. There is a WW buddy thread floating around so bump it anytime! You sound like you have a really good plan. I'm sorry that you gained over the summer but no better time to correct it before the holidays!

Thank you Jeneen!

Naga- one of the hardest things for me was getting in more water at first. I went to Target and bought a Rubbermaid refillable 32oz water bottle with a flip top. So, I know that over the course of the day (and preferably long before bed) I have to drink 2 of those. I just fill them with filtered water. I usually have 1 done by lunch and with working out I finish the other just after dinner. Some days I even drink another 1/2. My skin is noticably better with that and a once a week sit in the sauna and steam room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
It looks like everyone is on track!
My AF came to visit so i think that was why my WI wasn't what I had hoped for. I WI this morning on my Wii fit and it said I am down another 1.6 lbs. I'm not going to hold my breath but it would be nice to see a big drop for next monday!
I realized this morning I am only 14lbs away from what my drivers license says I weigh
I also made DH promise that we won't buy Halloween candy until the day of Halloween and we will give out big handfuls until it is gone and toss any leftovers.
Thanks for the welcome buddy, Mree43, and AmourCouture! I did suck it up and got on the scale today for the first time in a while. And my weight was exactly what I thought it would be. So far, Day 1 for me has been great eating wise, but I am guilty of pushing "snooze" on the alarm and missed working out this morning. I feel like once I get into the habit of exercising it will get easier, but it is so hard to get started. I might try to go for a walk after dinner later tonight.
And I decided to skip the trick-or-treating this year and go out somewhere for Halloween instead- having bowls of candy around the house will just be too tempting!!
Halloween is going to be a tough one for me this year. I have to work this year and while it does mean I'll be running around that night, typically in the past when I've worked Halloween it ends up as an all out buffet. Most of the time our managers let us stay after hours and have a party where they will feed us, open up the bar, etc. I'm going to have to be careful!
On the other side, I did go out for my friend's birthday last night and only had one light beer and I drank water the rest of of the time. Which was really good considering all the guys in our group just kept buying drinks for everyone.
But I kinda feel like I'm paying for it now in a way. I woke up this morning feeling absolutely awful. So I'm currently at home and just drinking a ton of water. Food is making my stomach back flip currently.
Halloween is tough. I love sugar.
Thanks for the great advice guys!!I'm feeling really good right now. I was at Safeway today and I PASSED on the halloween cookies! It was hard but managed to put it down (old self I swear I ate at least one or more cookies a day). Also I started my work out routine on Monday by doing 30 minutes of cardio. It felt really good. Missed yesterday because I was on ShopBop shopping LOL...couldn't miss out on the sale. So after school I will have to put in my 30 minutes if I want to keep on track.
Morning everyone,
Thanks for all the encouragement, it really does help me, as does writing into this thread every morning as a check in.
Yesterday I stuck to plan and feel great for it. I even made lasagne for my dh for dinner, while I had grilled chicken and salad for dinner, and I love lasagne!! There is a heap left over, but not for me, it's not allowed. So am off to the gym and then to pilates today.
The wind has quietened down and for once I think the sun may come out today, and I hope so as it has been raining all week.
Mree43, you are right, I do take this one day at a time, one meal at a time. Everything is a conscious choice, and has to be. I am just trying to make the best choices I can.
Tonight is challenging as we are going out for drinks and dinner, so will let you all know how I go tomorrow.
