I just started in earnest this week, weighed myself yesterday - 183 That's as big as I have been in 3 years!! So this is coming at the perfect time. I'm working out 1 hr a day every weekday this week and I've cut the crummy foods out of my diet - so far so good. I'm also literally drinking 4x the water that I usually would, which is really helping with muscle cramps and soreness. I'm just guzzling water. I don't know if I'll end up losing weight (I'm weighing in next Monday) b/c of all of the water, but I'll be making some positive improvements.

I'm also on the "pay yourself to lose weight" plan that Samantha suggested in another thread. I get $1 for every half hour of exercise and $10 for every pound I lose, and all that money goes straight into the bag fund. So far I have made $4, a long way from a LV, but it's been great motivation to stay at the gym for just a little bit longer.

What a great idea! I "banned" myself til I hit my goal of 20 lbs., I think I will pay myself too so that when I reach my goal I will hopefully have a hefty savings account to treat myself.

^^^Yeah, thank Samantha, it really is a good motivator! I want to lose about 40 pounds, I'm giving myself until December though to achieve my goal (and beyond, as long as I'm making progress). I'm going to cash out my savings in December and buy myself something nice then!

I've lost 2 pounds since last week! Yay! I really need to start exercising more though. Hopefully I'll start riding my bike again every day.

i haven't lost a pound, but i'm getting up every day between 5 and 5:15 and running until 6:00. I ran for one hour today, and got 3.5 miles in, then i walked a mile. so, at least i'm exercising. hopefully in another week or two i'll see a difference. i also stopped the steroids, so hopefully that will help, too. :)

^My mom was on steriods once, and she dropped the weight pretty fast when she stopped taking them. Sounds like you are doing a great job with the exercise!

Ok, I am so doing this, starting today. I am 165. Weighed myself last night. I want to lose 30 lbs. That's $300 in just weight lost... if I exercise for 1 hour per day, five days per week, that's $10 per week... wow it can add up! And the more I exercise, the more $ I make... oh I am so all over this!

running tonight... for an hour! that's $2!
