Default Sweetlove's quest to lose 100 lbs
So, after reading various weight loss threads around here, I've decided to start my own since I'm also in need of losing at least 100 lbs (I want to lose more, but my goal is 100lbs so far).

I've only been at it for about a week, so I haven't been able to weigh myself to see if I have lost anything, but I will start doing that tomorrow, I promise.

My strategy is to first eliminate unhealthy food from my kitchen, and I've been eating mostly fruits, made smoothies and tried to exchange ordinary pasta with wholewheat.
I'm drinking lots of water and two glasses of juice every day - one glass of orange juice for the vitamins, and one type which aparently is filled with anti-dioxidants. Oh, and green tea of course.

Then I've started working out again. My goal so far has been three times a week, but I also play tennis on the side once a week, so in total, that'll amount to four times a week. I really hate working out, so I've decided to take it slow not to burn out, but my goal is to eventually be able to work out 4-5 times a week.

I'm also thinking about buying Wii Fit. Now, I know it's not a replacement for ordinary work-out, but it seems like good fun, and if it's healthy anyways, then why not?

Anyways, I hope I'll be able to update this regularly with what's going on and if I've lost or not.

edit: I've even added a ticker in my signature! Hopefully this will make me more motivated

Don't be surprised if you lose some weight and then hit plateaus. Everybody goes through that. it's discouraging, but have a network of friends that can help you through that mose difficult part of your whole plan.

Good Luck!!! It sounds like you are highly motivated to reach your goal!

I'm also planning to begin a weight loss journey - a friend from work and I are joining Weight Watchers this week (Tuesday to be exact). My weight loss goal is very similar to yours and it is something I would like to achieve by the end of 2009. Maybe we can inspire one another...

Hi yeah, I'm not looking forward to it, but I know it's impossible to avoid the plateaus, so I've already "mentally prepared" myself for it. I hope I'll get through it

Thanks y'all!
After some weighing-in today, I realized that I need to lose more like 120lbs than 100, but what's another 20lbs when I have this much to lose I've decided that I'm gonna reward myself for my first 20lbs lost with either Wii Fit or some guidance lessions with a personal trainer so that I can get the most out of things Now I just need to stick to my 3-times a week work-out schedule

Thanks guys. I've already started putting money aside for the Wii Fit

I have my first weigh in tomorrow - not sure if I should be excited or nervous, lol.

Thanks! Did my first weigh-in today, lost 3lbs since monday. Then again, I know it's always easy in the beginning, then the plateaus starts appearing. yikes.
