I've been spinning for a couple of years. It's a wonderful low impact cardio exercise class. I definitely feel like I burn more calories in spin than any other exercise classes. In order to see results you need to stick w/ it and incorporate a weight training program into your routine as well.

Spinning is a great way to lose weight! I love it! I just got a real bike though, and it is considerably harder to ride a real bike on hilly trails than the spin bike is. Great exercise!

I absolutely love spinning. The instructors at the gym I belong to make it so motivational and fun that it's hard to remember that you're in there for 45-60 minutes!

Spinning is AWESOME~!!! I love it. You can make it as hard as you want or if you are having a off day but still want to move you can make it easier. I love the way it literally kicks my ass. I have yet to walk out of my spinning class not dripping wet in sweat. Its the best. Wonderful fat burning exercise.

I agree. I hit the mountain bike trails when I can (we have parks with trails here in South Florida) and it's a great workout.

However, Spinning is also good! I would invest in a pair of cycling shoes so that you can clip into the pedals. It's a great workout and it's even better when you find a good instructor who has motivating music. Bring a towel and water bottle, because you'll definitely be sweating.

My mom has been working out for years but she only started spinning on a regular basis 2 years ago. I have to say, i couldn't believe the amount of weight she lost. def. agree w/ Cristina...bring a towel (at least one!) and lots of water!

I spin about 1-2 times a week to mix up my cardio. The classes are pretty intense. I wear a heart rate monitor so I can see how much I burn. Typically it's between 400-500 calories in 45 minutes.

You sound like me. I just bought mountain bike and go through a lot of hilly trails. I love the burn and workout. I forgot how much fun it is to ride.

OP-I have done spin class but prefer outdoors. You will notice a difference if you push yourself.

I like outdoors better too. I was kind of frustrated at first though because I really sucked! I thought it was going to be a piece of cake...lol

^ I did as well^ Big oops! :)

I enjoy it though. Seeing that we both live in really pretty areas, it probably doesn't hurt. If I were in a city that was uncomfortably humid and hot, I may not be riding as much.

Spinning is a great exercise, depending on how hard you work of course... if you don't turn up the resistance then you're cheating yourself and probably won't see much result. My legs and butt are in better shape. It also improves my endurance. It's so much fun especially when the music and the instructor are good.

I got this exercise bike at home in my livingroom, so everytime I watch tv I usually spin it's great cause you dont really focus on that you're working when you watch something entertaining while you do it. I've noticed that my thighs got abit smaller and definitely firmer after a few weeks of doing it regulary. Haven't actually gone to a spinning class yet though but I've seen them and they look kind of crazy imo, dark room with really loud music played and a guy constantly screaming to encourage everyone

Spinning transformed my body quicker than any other exercise. I took up spinning while getting in shape before my wedding. I truly was in the best shape of my life after about 2 months of spinning.

Spinning is definitely a great exercise! I started taking a class some time ago and I started seeing a difference in about a month. I didn't grasp for breath while walking up stairs, my celullite started disappearing, thighs, hips, and lower back fat slimmed down, etc. It also improved my mood a lot; I was much happier, got better sleep, had loads of energy!

The only downside was the horrible pain I went through the first week. I didn't work out at all before I started so it was truly excruciating! But once the week had passed, I could follow through almost the whole class and the pain was gone.

Now I'm really thinking I should take it up again!
