Wednesday

Friday

Same old same old:

Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun: 12km run; 60 push-ups

Tue, Thur, Sat: 1.5 hours of weights and abs.

I'm bored

I want to do lunges and squats to build up my booty - I have an Asian butt, though the jogging has helped quite a bit, I'd like it to be more curvy - but I'm worried about bulking up my thighs, which are quite toned already. Should I try it?

It's difficult for women to "bulk up". You have to eat a crapload of protein, eat the right foods, lift super heavy, etc. You should be able to incorporate lunges and squats into your workout without a problem. I do them during my leg routine and my legs have never looked bulky

Monday, October 8

chest/shoulders/triceps

dumbbell press on bench
dumbbell flyes on bench

shoulder press
standing row with barbell

overhead triceps extension
tricep dips

3-mile run

I ran 8 km and did skull crushers, upright rows, snatches, shoulder press, 300 abs. Girls I also want to get more curve in my butt. I normally do a lot of lunges, squats, sumos, leg press, straight leg deadlifts.... is there any other exercises you can think of.

Just got back from gym. Ran 6 miles on the treadmill for 52 minutes, did arms and chest for 30 minutes. I still have to do my pilates ab work out! This week, I vow to push myself harder on my workouts. I may even go back to the gym tonight.

Okay I've been slacking and therefore adding to the ol stomach roll, so... !!! Tonight I'm jumping on either the treadmill or elliptical machine for at least 30 minutes. Now I have to, or otherwise come back here and hang my head in shame.

This is just my opinion, but I think running makes the butt "flatter" Look at a marathon runner. Their body fat is usually low, and they don't really have a lot of muscle tone in that area. Running is a great exercise for the abs, since you use your core for stabilization. Spinning is great for the legs, and if you're in a climbing position, like Position 3 or 4, it can work the butt sometimes and the hamstrings.

I have heard that the Stairstepper is a great machine for helping to tone the glutes. However, any kind of cardio, if done for a long enough period and if your heart rate is in the right zone, will burn fat. It's weight training and a solid leg routine that shapes the muscles and gives you the lift, curve, etc., that most of us want. Genetics (unfortunately) play a large role. I am hispanic, and I know I will never have a small, toned behind

Thanks for the advice! I've just started doing it, I did two sets of 12 lunges yesterday and I can really feel it now ^o^

I'm getting on my treadmill soon
