Default scalp acne
Hi guys,
I've had severe acne for a long time (10+ years), now its all gone...but I still get them around my period.
Besides this, I have lots and lots of deep cystic boils-like acne on my scalp...and its causing my hair to fall out!!
Like, my hair falls out either due to the acne themselves, or most of the time due to white-heads clogging my hair follicles.

So, did anyone here have that problem, and if so, how did you guys treat/get rid of it??
TIA!

How often are you washing your hair and what shampoo are you using? I get some pimples around the back of my neck near my hairline because I tend not to do such a good job of washing my hair back there (plus the conditioner/hair product).

You should talk to a dermatologist to see what they suggest. Maybe you need a really gentle shampoo with no fragrance or anything.

I was getting bumps on my head when I switched to Dove conditioner. Have you changed any routines lately relating to your hair?

I second seeing a dermatologist. They will be able to tell you how to properly treat it and check out what it is.

I noticed if I skip a day of not washing my hair, I get whiteheads.

It sounds like the ph levels in your skin/body are changing, but I'm certainly not a doctor. Have a derm check it out.

Thanks for the info guys...
I used to have severe acne problem on my body (not my scalp), and no matter what I used on my skin, it wouldn't go away. My doc gave me some birth controls because I was about to go on Accutane, but the birth controls worked perfectly.
I'm not on birth control anymore, and haven't been on them for months, but my acne hasn't come back.
The only thing is, my scalp acne is not going away. They're not your run-of-the mill pimples, they're really really deep, and only show up as bumps (occasionally filled with pus). And...on top of that my hair is falling out by the handful, and the follicle of the sheded hair seems to have turned into whiteheads...

I just hope that my hair would grow back after I get help for it..

Another (unrelated) question: what do you guys do to get smooth, unkinky hair.
I'm of the South Asian descent and my hair is really really frizzy, and there's nothing I can do to get rid of it.
I really want to know if there's a product which can take out the frizz but keep my curls intact (Btw, I don't use ANY products right now because I don't want to aggravate my acne) . I got the Xtenzo by L'Oreal relaxer from the salon (its supposed to be a lot better than the run-of-the-mill relaxer) but it did the exact opposite of what they said it would do---it took away my curls by kept the frizz....

I would still go see your dermatologist, they might have a medicated shampoo that would help
