Default Running

So lately I've been running a lot and I've just been wearing some soffees (just plain cotton shorts) and a random tshirt. BUTTT lately ive been thinking about buying some good running clothes. Any suggestions? What do you ladies wear when you run?

Oh and just another random question, do you prefer to run outside or on a treadmill? I prefer outside, just because I feel like I'm actually GETTING somewhere since the scenery is going bye, lol.

sorry if there is already a thread about this, but since the search is down I couldnt look!

I prefer running outside but I also like being able to exercise in the comfort of my own house..lol. Plus when I run on the treadmill I get to watch tv :) Hehe. I play varsity tennis and volleyball so I have a lot of "sporty" clothing. Lots of Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc. shorts. Sometimes I wear my volleyball spandex lol and for shirts, I wear any semi-baggy shirt. I have a few U. Penn and Stanford university shirts that I like to wear :)

Cotton gets very heavy if you sweat a lot. I would suggest buying polyester or one of those "performance" tees (dri-fit by Nike, for example) that help move sweat/moisture off your skin and evaporate. Tho some people get all decked out in name brand fancy outfits, I just buy $10 shirts from TJ Maxx or Target. Spandex shorts are great and you won't get chaffing.

Yup, there was a marathon/running thread somewhere...I was on my way to search for it...

I'll wear old cotton t-shirt (usually race t-shirts) on runs lasting under 45 minutes in normal weather. Anything longer, or on really hot summer days above 75 degrees, I'll wear a performance tank top (I can't STAND the tight fitting ones...my personal favorites are by nike). Anytime the weather is above 45 degrees, I'll wear performance shorts. I almost never wear cotton shorts out for a run.

During colder weather, I wear special running tights, and an under amour turtleneck.

I normally prefer running outside...but I'll step inside during really humid days, or really windy days. Both types of weather conditions have disasterous effects on my breathing.

The shoes are really important (!) other than that I think anything is fine as long as it's comfortable and keeps you warm enough.

I wear pretty much the same clothes as at the gym. A tank top in functional material that transports moist, closest to the body and jazz pants. I jogged in a cotton t-shirt once and I was so cold on the way home since cotton just absorbs all the moist.

In the winter or if just cold outside (like today) I have long underwear/breathable under-layers, functional hoodjacket and if needed a sweatshirt on top of it all. Oh, and a cap and mittens of course.

But, I am thinking of getting "real" running clothes. Nice clothes always helps when the motivation is low!

I always run outdoors! The treadmill is too boring.

I would definitely recommend wearing something like Dri-Fit or ClimaCool material clothes if you sweat a lot. I do 20 minute interval training/running-20 minute jogging-20 minute interval training/running, and by the time I'm done I am drenched. It helps a lot to feel more comfortable if you're wearing something that absorbed your sweat bu dries quickly.

You should also get a good pair of nice running shoes. I have very flexible feet that needs a lot of support, and a professional runner at a local running shoes store fit me in a really nice pair of running shoes. It made a HUGE difference in how fast my poor feet and legs can recover.

it depends on my mood- sometimes i love to put on lots of layers and sweatpants and just sweat it out on the treadmill (i like the treadmill at times because i know exactly how far i'm running). othertimes i'll just want to be outside in the beautiful weather and i'll wear a pair of leggings or shorts and a tank.

I like my nike drifit tees and either a running skirt or nike tempo shorts. It feels so much better that clingy sweaty cotton on a sweat run!

I just bought some workout clothes from Target. Champion drywicking shirts, and they work great for 10 bucks a shirt. No need to spend a lot of money on stuff like this.

i use the dri-fit tops of nike :) they're great if you sweat easily

and i prefer the road...the treadmill has a different feel and traction..the only thing great about them is you can incline them so that you can push yourself harder :)

I also prefer dri-fit tops and shorts. I even wear addidas or nike moisture control socks. They're all very breathable. I also get them at TJ Maxx, so they're very inexpensive. I wear asics sneakers because they're always the top rated. If you wait til they're on sale at Kohl's they're very inexpensive too.

I run on the treadmill usuallly. I'm a big fan of the Nike tempo shorts and their dri fit shirts...really anything that pulls the sweat off of me. Good shoes and good music are important for me, too!

It's a bit off-topic but I don't want to start a new thread for this so my question is, do you think Nike+ sportband is good? Or do you know any better alternative to watch pace, distance and time?
