i used to like juicing too until i found out about green smoothies. The problem with juicing is that it evaporates and oxidizes really fast and therefore it loses all it's nutrients and antioxidants and enzymes. Therefore when you juice it's best to drink it right after it is made or consumed within an hour so you don't lose all the nutrients.

Now with green smoothies you can stored refridgerate it in a glass container for up to 3 days before it loses any nutrient or antioxidants. Therefore it's more convenient for me and less mess of having to clean out the juicing pulp. And best of all your getting your fibers.

What i usually do the morning is blend a big green smoothie in a big glass jar and drink half of it for breakfast and then i take the other half to work for lunch . That just gives me energy all day long. For breakfast green smoothies . For Lunch green smoothies and homemade fruit salad and i also drink protein shakes since i don't eat too much meat.
Then i' ll snack on cahews or any type of nuts throughout the day . And most importantly don't forget to drink 6-8 glass of water through out the day

Yes, yes, and yes!!! Those are the same reasons why I prefer smoothies :)

I wish I were as organized as you, making one batch of smoothies per day! I usually make one or two every 2-3 days.

I think after I delivered number 3, I will have to give this a try during the summer to detox - stress and pregnancy adds up to bad eating habits (occasionally... )

congrats Samia on your reboot!

You can add a daily juice (or two) to your nutrition right now... doesn't have to be 0 or 100% to see benefits

Thanks I usually like to drink my green smoothies fresh and start over the next day. I wasn't always this discipline because some days I would like skip the green smoothies in favor of burgers / fries /and Chinese food. It was hard at first but the more I drank the green smoothies the better I felt and my skin started to improved and change. and so I just kept doing it consistently because I really like the results. You get used to it after a while and feel most energetic.\ I didn't have a weight problem to begin with. I just did it for other health reason and I was just fatigued and tired all the time

I like the fact that a green smoothie can be a meal replacement in itself because it contains all the vitamins , nutrients and fibers. I usually buy organic for the greens but as for the fruits ( like banannas mangoe lemon orange pineapple or any type of fruits with peels ) I usually don't care if it is organic or not

Also make sure to drink your green smoothies slowly instead of gulping and chugging it down your throat too fast. I normally chew my green Smoothies before I swallow it . I had read in Victoria Boutenko books that by mimicking chewing it helps to stimulate the production of digestive enzymes. The digestive enzymes ( hydrochloric acid ) is very important in breaking down the nutrients and fibers and helps aid in the best possible absorption of nutrients.
So in order to maximize your nutrition content I suggest you chew whether it be for juicing or green smoothies

I completely agree, I feel so much more energetic when I have green smoothies. I also do not drink them for weight loss. I've always eaten a lot of salads, but I still feel benefits from the green smoothies My problem is not usually that I want to eat something else, but that I am not home enough to make one or I don't have time to go shopping for greens. Luckily the smoothies suit my taste perfectly and I crave them often

Right now I'm traveling overseas and I totally feel the lack of green smoothies! I'm so low-energy I'm almost lethargic and I just know that a smoothie would perk me right up. I'm traveling for business, so it's hotel (not even a mini bar/fridge) and restaurant foods all day I try to eat as much salad and fruit as I can, but it's just not the same. I like traveling, but I also can't wait to get back to my smoothies!

Hmmm, drink a smoothie for me too next time please

What are your favorites?

Okay so I bought a ninja blender today... Forget the exact model but it was the 2nd best one 750 watts. Made my first green smoothie with spinach, blackberries, and raspberries. (and ice and water) It was delicious but I'm not sure if I'm missing something. It was kind of thin with tiny hard specks of ice and lots of spinach chopped up so fine it looked like herbs. It was delicious though... How Can I achieve a better consistency? I definitely couldnt afford a vitamix

I tried doing a 5 day reboot. By day 4 the hunger was so unbearable, I had to eat something. I didn't bother with the 5th day. I still do the juice thing for breakfast most mornings.

I had green juice today! Okay not exactly green cos it has a mixture of purple and orange as well.. Love it and I feel energized immediately!! But I hate the preparation process (cutting, washing, slicing and peeling) and the washing part!!

Gabrieal I would definitely invest in a vitamix blender or a Blentec blender if your thinking of making greens smoothies. Either one is a good Choice . These blenders are a neccessity for making Green Smoothies . And im not trying to advertise for any of these company. But there really is a major difference between the Vitamix/Blendtec and other regular blender.
With my Vitamix all i need to do is blend under one minute for a smooth creamy consistency.

Every time you blend your Green Smoothies oxidation takes place. Example when you cut a fresh apple and leave it out for a few minutes it starts to turn brown. That is the process of oxidation where the cells and enzymes died. Regular blenders oxidizes and heats your green smoothies because it takes more time to blend to a smooth consistency . The longer you blend the more heat and friction is created thereby killing live enzymes and nutrients in your green smoothies . Whereas with the Vitamix blender it works at high speeed to create green smoothies quickly and therefore it minimize oxidation. The Vitamix Blender has the ability to break right through the cell walls of green smoothies ingredients thereby releasing more nutrients available /

Trust me i'ved done alot of research on green smoothies before I started drinking it

Yeah the more i drank the green smoothie the more i crave it. Now i can't go a day without my Green Smoothies . My favorite right now is spianch and mangoe witha a hint of strawberry . I usually switch it up and rotate my greens and fruits weekly . Like Victoria stated in her book on the importance of rotating your greens . Quote " If you keep consuming kale, or spinach , or any other single green for many weeks without rotation, eventually the same type of alkaloids can accumulate in your body and cause unwanted symptoms of poisoning. Most Greens contain different kinds of alkaloids, which is why, by rotating the variety of greens in our smoothies, we can avoid poisoning and strengthen our immunity. " The Green Smoothie Revolution \

So cheers to you and i'll toast a green smoothie to you
