I got into the habit of drinking up to 4 cans a day of diet Coke and one day just realised not only is it bad for me but it actually tastes pretty gross! I just stopped drinking it and now stick to Ribena and tea

I drink soda every day too. 2 weeks before I went to the beach I cut it out and when I went my stomach looked sooo much better. When I came back I got rid of my little soda diet and now I'm back where I was
It's definitely not a good habit to have. I need to drink more water, you should too! ;D

I drink approximately 3-4 cans/servings of diet soda per week, if that. I used to drink a lot more than that when I was a teenager, probably around 2-3 per day, and that was regular soda.

As for the diet vs. regular soda war, I don't think either one is better than the other. Diet has artificial sweeteners, most of which are suspect as it relates to health and safety. Regular soda is loaded full of sugar which is bad for your teeth and raises your blood sugar levels. It's probably best to avoid both of them but I think that you'll probably be fine as long as you don't drink too much of either one -- it's all about moderation with everything.

I almost never drink water :( And my tummy gets so bubbly from all the pop

What should I drink instead? I tried juices and stuff..

What about crystal light or fun light? Is that better? But I think I will miss the COLA taste..

IMO, water and unsweetened tea are going to be your best bests. Most juice has added sugar - levels that are nearly the same as soda! Crystal Light has artificial sweeteners which means it is the same as drinking diet soda without carbonation.

Just make a promise that you will limit yourself to X number of cans per week. You'll probably appreciate it more if you do that!

why don't you want to drink water?

it's the best drink for humans. no sugar, no chemicals, no additives (and no calories). it won't upset your stomach, won't add weight...and if you have "cellulite" genes, won't exacerabate it.

I have been addicted to Diet Dr Pepper since I was 14 (I am now 24) I was drinking 8 cans a day at least, then after reading how horrible they are I had to put them down....I quit cold turkey, it was hard, I swear I had withdrawls! But I have been free from DDP for 6 months, and I can honestly say that I have never felt better! I drink water and only water!!

well just remember that your body gets used to the caffeine and you might have head aches once you lower the amount or stop. i too used to be a big soda drinker...now hubby and i buy maybe a 2 liter every other week...if that. we are drinking more water and more iced tea.

so just start to limit your intake and slowly decrease that amount. you might have to try a few drinks until you are able to find something else that is healthier and tastier to you

I mostly like soda because of the way it fizzes... It's not much healthier, but I've taken to mixing fruit juice with soda water - it's still sweet, but I feel like it's not s bad for me.

If you're mixing carbonated water with juice that has no added sugar it's a lot healthier!
