Default pole dancing classes, have you tried them?

hello girls, i have recently gone to a couple pole dancing classes and have found it to be super fun and a really great work out. they said that the stripper high heels make the work out even more intense in your thighs and buns area. is this true? for those of you who pole dance can you confirm this? thanks!

ps- if you haven't tried. you must must must!!

I've tried them but not in heels. They're not as easy as it looks but so much fun!

I would love to pole dance but I'm a very clumsy person!!!
High heels esp stilettos always make walking a workout because it helps sculpt butts and calves... that's what my catwalk modeling coach once said.

I just dance on the brass pole I have installed in my living room and the clear 6 inch stilletos give me buns of steel........good times for my BF's friends when they come over

J/K.....it is a phenominal workout I would imagine

I'd love to...but sadly they don't have lessons around here....they don't have too much of anything out here in the sticks! I would love to do something like that though--it would make working out fun!

Yes love 'em. But stopped going because I had to drive an hour one way to get to class. I'm not real graceful in the heels as a result of foot surgery but can climb to the top of the pole effortlessly I have great upper body strength.

I'd love to have a pole erected in my house to practice in private but the only place I have flat ceilings without a ceiling fans is in the living room and I just cant do that. I'd NEVER hear the end of it.

I'd love to take the classes but there aren't any around me. I have my own pole but I'm lazy and hardly use it anymore. It is a killer workout though. The newness just has worn off and I"m not as enthused to do it anymore.

We did a private class for a friend's birthday and it was really fun! Serious upper body work to do the spins and things. I remember my arms and pecs being really sore, not so much lower body. I felt like I needed to be in better shape before I went to more classes, definitely a lot of work!

I haven't done classes but I have messed around on one on my own..( my friend's fiance owns a night club and they have a pole there) and my body hurt the next day so I guess it works

Oh yeah and heels always tone your legs and calves. I used to walk to high school in heels everyday before I had my licence so I speak from experience.

I would love to try it, but I have to wait until I'm in better shape first. But I get my feelin' sexy on by doing the Carmen Electra's Cardio Striptease DVDs.

My friend wants all of us to go to a class for her birthday and I wanted to know what exactly I should expect since we aren't going for a "lesson" but just an intro class. This is the one we are going to: http://www.sfactor.com/index.asp

I think it would be fun to try! I have heard (as you have all also mentioned) it is quite a workout, unfortunately I dont know of anyplace that does it.

It will be fun. You're gonna be surprised at how you sweat--it's a good workout . If your not super graceful in heels, you might wanna try it barefoot.

I've only done an intro class (8 weeks total) barefoot. It was super fun, but I didn't think it was much of a workout. I imagine the higher levels would be much harder. If I can get a pole installed at home, I would probably continue with the class, but I'm still living with a very traditional family where my mom wants me to stop wearing thongs because "only hookers wear them", so I imagine the pole wouldn't go down well with the parents.
