Great news on the weigh in! That's amazing. Mine is tomorrow. I'm not expecting much of a difference because I know I've gained muscle. I'm okay with that though for the time being.

GOOD LUCK! The first 20 lbs are always the hardest but once you get into good eating and exercise habits.. it's like gravy...

I'm here with you every step of the way.

And who gives a f$$#$@ what anyone says.. they can laugh all they want.. but it only shows how insecure they are about their own bodies.

My next step - and a step that I would like to see the entire world take - is to not be afraid of weight, afraid of the numbers. One of the things I hear on occasion is that I don't "look my weight", probably because I am so tall. But... it's my weight, so of course I look it. Because that's what it looks like on me. Does that make sense? I am not sure.

People have these preconceived notions of what numbers/number ranges look like and they have little to no bearing on reality. I am willing to bet that most people cannot accurately guess others' weights because of these perceptions. I want to live in a world where people (including me) don't lie about their weights on their driver's licenses (mine says 290 - at such a high weight you can fudge 30ish pounds and no one will know because most peoples' mental image of a 300 pound woman is the headless fat person on the news who can't get out of a chair and that is not always the case) and in a world where people don't get to be 23 not understanding anything more complicated than the concept of calories in and calories out.

I guess I'm constructing a soapbox here but the point is, I finally feel like I am not lying to you guys. I don't have many friends IRL so I don't like the feeling that I am lying to the ones I do have.

I peeked again today at the scale and I am pretty excited for Sunday's weigh in.

wow. what an amazing post.

Nooch, in all the pictures I've seen of you I always thought you carried the weight and yourself remarkably well. I see the confidence and elegance you carry yourself.

I have struggled with my weight the last decade at nearly 200lbs but people keep telling me I carry it well. I don't feel good/bad about that, it's just their observation. I know there's no sloppiness in the way I move about because this is the way I've always carried myself, at 108lbs 25 years ago and at 190lbs now but I know I am slower, my movements and mannerisms seem incongruous to my weight I believe.

Good luck. I have been waffling on weightloss; I will motivate now. We know you'll just shoot from the hip and we respect you for that.

just came back in to check on ya nooch!

i wanted to also mention you should journal measurements! watching inches fall off as fast as the pounds is really, really rewarding. plus, when you reach that plateau where the scale doesnt change, but ur body is changing, those measurements will really come in handy.

I haaaaaaaaate measurements right now because they are all coming out exactly the same as two months ago! I have it tracked in sparkpeople though so when the scale does stop moving I can do new measurements.

As far as motivation goes, I seriously am taking whatever I can get. Every time I think about 132 pounds I go AUGHHHH!_)#u!@)#*)#, but when I think about 33 pounds 4 times I get less hysterical.

thats a great idea...or maybe just do measurements 1/month and weigh-ins 1/week. also, setting smaller goals is also great. good luck nooch!
