Nooch, I love you! Good luck.

You're one of those people who is capable of anything if they put their mind to it, so I'm sure you'll get where you want to be. You're husband is a lucky, lucky, lucky man whatever you weigh.

For some reason reading your thread made me cry. I am so sorry that anyone has treated you badly because of what you weigh. I know it happens, but it hurts my heart to hear of it happening to you. I know we don't know each other, but I see you around the forum, so I feel like we are acquantainces, at least. I hope that makes sense!!!
Nooch....I am sure it is not going to be easy to do this, but the fact of the matter is that you CAN do it!!! This is what I kept telling myself when I quit smoking. That is other people could do it...well, so can I!!! The only thing standing betwen you and 189 pounds is yourself. So stick to the plan that you made, and don't alter your course.
I started smoking when I was 15, I am now 35. I have not known what it was like to be a non-smoker, because even when I was pregnant with my kids...I couldn't wait to smoke again. I knew that it was only me keeping myself from becoming the person that I wanted to be, so I have put my mind to it, and am now 8 weeks smoke-free.
I know that not smoking, and dieting are not the same, but they are both about battling your own demons.....which is something I have been doing lately!
Sorry if I rambled. Best of luck to you. I will check back on your progress...I cannot wait to hear about your weigh-ins!

You're an inspiration, seriously. I read your thread yesterday and after reading it, I re-signed up for weight watchers online.

Just curious, have you tried that? I know you said you count calories through a website.. WW and the point values is great because you can eat whatever you want, as long as you stay within the points. There are a lot of great tools. When you weigh yourself every week, you enter your new weight and then WW recalculates your points (if necessary.)

You enter what type of activity you did, and it will tell you how many extra points you can add to your day (though you don't have to eat those extra points....)

You can get a free week on their website... Do what's best and what works for you, but in my experience, it is really worth the 16 (or so) bucks a month.

Good luck!

I may check that out if I stall - right now calorie counting is working and with sparkpeople, they do the same thing with your calorie count based on your weight/activity levels. I know on 3 fat chicks a LOT of people love WW though.

I'm still eating pretty much everything I want - the only things I have had to give up are things that turn me into a hoover - ice cream and calzones.

Drumroll, everybody! I weighed in this morning!

Last week's weight (second day of my period, so not a really accurate weight) - 313
Mid week peek weight - 307
Today's weight - 303.8 HELL YES!

I am going to be so happy to kiss my foray into the 300s GOODBYE in a couple of weeks! And my MIL told me that my FIL (the least observant person ever - I once cut waist length hair to above my shoulders and he didn't notice) said that I am looking smaller. YES! It's working!

Between the gym, the Wii Fit, and actually understanding how many calories I am supposed to eat (which is hard for me to accept - with the amount that I work out I am eating a LOT and I am sometimes scared reading my food logs that somehow I am going to gain - it's an irrational fear but it does scare me) I know it has no choice but to work but still. I guess I just don't believe it's going to work until I see the scale (as I think I look exactly the same still - I am pretty vain and look at myself about a bazillion times a day so I have to take others' words for it) moving.

I really appreciate everybody who has posted in this thread so much. I can't adequately explain it but you guys are keeping me going - if I never posted this thread, nobody would ever know if I slacked off, you know? But when I post I feel like I am bringing my report card home with a 4.0 or something.

While I've always been thin, I've noticed that it takes more effort as I have gotten older to maintain my figure. Fashion is a good goal for me. Imagine becoming a size 12 and being able to get your first pair of designer jeans. For me, I wanted to buy slinky tops and not concern myself with muffin top.

I read that Heidi Klum takes pictures of herself naked. I sometimes do that to keep me motivated and to track my progress in the gym.

Good luck in your journey!

I'm so glad to hear about your progress. Great job!

I also wanted to chime in that Wii Fit is awesome, and in case you were looking for more fun Wii stuff I highly recommend My Fitness Coach and Wii Active. You can use the balance board from Wii Fit with Wii Active.

Ooh, awesome! I was wondering if some of the other Wii things needed new peripherals and I am super glad to hear that they don't. Does My Fitness Coach need a peripheral?

No it doesn't ... and I saw it recently at Target for $29.99!
