Nooch - I can't tell you how much I enjoy your posts -- they're thoughtful and thought-provoking -- and can sense the confident person behind them.

This thread is even more special because you're showing us your vulnerability and allowing us an opportunity to support you in your decision and journey. Thank you and I hope in those moments when it gets tough, you'll feel your tPF sisters' arms helping you stay strong!

Yeah, learning how much I should be eating really drove home the point that I had no clue about how to do anything in a healthy manner. Not sure if I am gonna do a ticker as I never remember to update them but definitely gonna hit this thread every Sunday and whenever else I need your help

I love you Nooch. No matter what size. But I support you in your decision - I have made the same one! I don't have the same amount as you to lose, but it's still a commitment we have chosen to make, for various reasons...and I 100% support you!!!

Good luck on your journey nooch! It will be worth it!

Right now I have a good friend who had gained over 100lbs in the past two years since her best friend's, mother's and grandmother's deaths (they all passed away within the same year). Unlike you, she has not reached the point where she can take control of her eating (being an emotional eater, she has always struggled with weight ever since I met her). It is difficult to see her struggle with it.

I look forward to your updates!

Nooch, THANK YOU for starting this thread. You've given me the extra 'push' to finally try, once again, to lose the weight and get healthy. I also have a LOT to lose and will definitely follow you on your journey while being on my own journey. Please PM me if you're having a weak moment, or simply need to vent. I understand how it feels to be judged soley on being heavy and I think we might be able to help each other. You seem to be so confident (I've never been) and I hope I can learn from you. I think one of my main problems was feeling 'alone' in this. My husband has never had a weight issue, and doesn't understand mine. I've gotten laughs when I admitted I had an eating disorder. Thank you for giving me hope again!

Nooch, good luck! I always really enjoy your posts in the Beauty Bar (where I tend to hang out) and in the relationships forum that I kind of lurk in, gosh that sounds creepy. You are seriously hilarious, and I always find what you say to be right on. You are so brave to confront this, and we are all here for you all the time. And by the way, you really look beautiful in that pic, your skin is glowing.

Way to go Nooch!!

I'm also a heavier girl (275 lbs!) so I know what it's like to maybe be embarassed or hesitatant to say at first what your true weight is. My highest weight was 297 but was able to get to 275 with diet and exercise. My weight loss journey is still going, but I'm going slow and steady. Just like in the story we used to hear as kids...Slow and steady wins the race

Good luck Nooch! You can do it!! Wish you all the best!
I am on a weight loss journey myself, and to be honest, I am kind of also doing it for the same reason as you (so that my bf can pick me up!) He wants to pick me up but I dont have the confidence to let him, so hopefully maybe losing a few pounds will help!!

All the best!! Keep us updated with your journey!!
