Angry No more bags and holidays...my dentist is getting my savings

I´m so upset right now !!!!! A tooth broke in 2, I need an implant and it´s gonna cost me 3700 $ for 1 tooth !!.....just needed to vent. And yes it´s visible when I smile, so I do need it, I am contemplating going to a cheaper country to have it fixed.

cyn, sweetie, definitely go and do them somewhere else, it will probably work out much cheaper even if you have to pay for the plane ticket!

and i thought the health care was free...

Sorry this happened to you, I know what you mean. One of my molars broke too and it cost me 2100 to save it, original coute was 1700 but I ended up paying more

It took 8-9 appointments and one special procedure of 975.00 not cover by insurance, ouch!!! but it was cheaper than the implant wich is not covered by insurance.

Hang in there, I hope you fix it soon.

Here is the link to my thread.

Please Help, a piece of my tooth fell out!!

I feel your pain. It's amazing how much money one little tooth costs! I spent 2 grand getting 4 wisdom tooth pulled. I didnt even get to be put under and all the dentist used was his tools and the numbing shots. It took maybe 5 mins per tooth...and the only thing that took up time was waiting for the numbing to kick in. I felt a bit ripped off...BUT watever.....!

my bf just had this done... unfortunately insurace doesn't cover it. He had to get it done because his tooth cracked and was infected because the dr. didn't get all of the roots out from a root canal. It takes several months because you have to take the tooth out, they take out tissue and add new tissue from a cadaver, then they stich you up..then you wait about 3 months go back to see if you are healing fine... then go back in a month to get the bolt put in... then you have the bolt in for a few months before you are able to get a tooth. They do give you a flipper which you can wear during this process. It is very expensive and does range into well over 2000 bucks.

im so sorry that happened. that is A LOT of $$. have you called other dentist and seen how much they charge? im gonna do that soon. i have a wisdom tooth that has to come out and they are charging me a $125 fee [bone graft] which my insurance doesn't cover and then the deductible and the fee...it's $200. i guess that's not too bad, i had to pay $500 out of pocket for the last one.

Waow, thank ladies for sharing your personal stories.....
Yes I am considering going abroad but I just don´t want to pick ANY dentist and have a lower quality of material used...It will also depends how does the procedure goes.
At least on this one she guaranteed the latest advanced technology of highest swedish quality lol ! -I trust her though-
Nat, the health system is free (well, included in your sky high taxes) EXCEPT medication, dentist and glasses !!

I feel for you... my husband went aboard to get his teeth fixed. He just paid for the flight and luckily his accomodation and food were free since he stayed with his brother. He saved quite a lot of money.

Ugh, that is expensive.

My bottom front two teeth are baby teeth-- there were never adult teeth under them so they never fell out. Eventually I'll need to replace both with implants. It doesn't sound fun for me or my wallet. :(

At least I never had to suffer through wisdom teeth.

definitely not the uk

my current dentist used to work in the uk, but then he moved home to finland and i followed him there because he works near our summer house. the bill isn't even half of what it used to be in london now

would sweden be cheaper? it's not that far from denmark at least..
