Default night owls? insomnia?

I am a night owl no matter where i'm at! Whether its here in the states or asia or europe. I am a night owl and I can't seem to change it. I can't get up in the morning unless I have an appointment or I have to go somewhere. is there any way to change that? or am I hopeless? well I will be starting a internship soon so I will have to wake up early but is there any way to make it less painful for me to get up in the morning? thanks

I know how you feel! I have the same issue. I'm home from college for the summer and I had some terrible mix-up for my internship (they gave it to someone else after they told me I had it!) and I couldn't get a job (it was too late by the time I found out). I have nothing to do all summer so now I can only fall asleep around 5am-7am and I wake up in the late afternoon!

I am SUCH a night owl. Whever my mom comes to visit, she always thinks somethings wrong with me. She has diagnosed me with insomnia. I told my doctor and she said she won't put me on medication, but to 1st try Tylenol PM and a regular routine.

I was up till 4am last night washing and setting my hair.

haha that is too funny. well recently I have been doing some research online and there's this this its all herbal and natural called Calms Forte. I've tried it twice and I think it works. Not totally sure because it doesnt make you all drowsey or anything it just kind of calms you i think. Maybe you can try that before you take any real medication because its very bad for your body to just take meds when you're not sick.

I can never fall asleep. I'm usually up to 3 and have to be at work by 930. But i've grown accustomed to functioning on little sleep.

I am a total night owl...and it doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get, getting up early is still a killer! If I go to bed at midnight, getting up for 7 is horrendous...yet if I go to bed at 4 am, getting up at 11 (on the same amount of sleep) is somehow a whole lot easier. I have always been a night owl, ever since I was a child, I don't think I'm ever going to grow out of it. And I'm sick of people telling me that you 'get used' to getting up early. I left college 9 years ago, I've been working pretty much ever since and it's still just as hard!!!

I'm the same! It's 2.49am now and I'm wide awake. Last night I stayed up the entire night to go to bed around 11pm tonight to get myself back on schedule since I couldn't sleep till 6am the day before..but then I accidently fell asleep for a few hours this afternoon. Only a few though so I should still be tired now..but I'm not!!!!

Even when I wake up at 7am I still don't get tired till atleast 3/4am!

night eye mask can help you sleep!! Did for me.

Before, it was sooo hard to fall asleep. Everytime I turn off the television and the lights my eyes would still be wide open.

Take a pillow and block the alarm clock (so you cant see the time). keep looking at the clock can keep you awake. idk why.

and try the eye mask. really works. might take some time to get use to. the first nights I got it, I would unconsiously take it off.

this is definetly me! I hate going to bed early unless im exhausted and no matter what I am not a morning person. Totally agree with what someone else said about getting the same hours of sleep but waking up better if its later then if its earlier in the morning. I went to bed at 5 am last night

I'm such a night owl too. I went to bed lateeee last night.

I agree with Jahpson, I find it easier to fall asleep quicker if I have an eye mask. I lost all of mine recently so need to get some more.... its def easier to sleep with them when you get used to them though. I cannot sleep at all if theres alot of noise or any light.

I can identify with you. I thought that when I finally got out in the workforce (I graduated college around the time you did) my sleeping patterns would adapt and I'd go to bed early. But no, that's not the case! I have to get up at 6:45AM for work but I still stay up until at least 12AM. I kick myself in the morning for getting to bed late and being tired, but I just continue to repeat the cycle. And it's not like I'm usually up doing anything important.
