Arrow Nice Abs - Easy

So last night DH was reading something on the net...not sure where he found it but there was study done about how to loose inches around the middle and how to have a nice tummy.

It takes about 5 mins a day, 7 days a week....and the work out is as easy as this:
1st rep- 12 bicycle crunches
rest for breaths
2nd rep - 12 bicycle crunches

and that is it. I started it today. My abs are burning a bit...well i also have been busy and cleaning all weekend. But any one else gonna try this and see if it works? Im excited to see how it comes out. Im also going to start doing some more yoga when i get the chance.

What are bicycle crunches? Is that like lying on your back and bicycling with your legs in the air? Thanks!

you will take your left elbow and touch it to your right knee. so you lift arms and legs and touch then the next one. a full crunch will be left elbow - right knee then right elbow-left knee...so that is one crunch...do 2 reps of 12.

i hope i explained it to where you know what i mean

i've been doing this for a couple of weeks and it makes your upper abs look good but it doesn't get rid of your pouch in the lower.

I am going to start cardio kickboxing classes tomorrow I hope I get my pouch down by the time I got on vacation 2 weeks to get those abs in shape!

Try the following exercise: Lie on your back with arms on the floor by your sides. Extend your legs in the air. Without using your hands, lift your lower back and butt as high as you can. Hold this position for about 2 seconds. Do 10-15 reps 1-3 sets. Do everyday. Combine with running or brisk walking to melt the fat to expose your beautiful tummy!

I've read a lot about how spot reducing is a myth but I'm not sure if that's entirely true. I swim everyday to tone up.

I believe the article was posted on Yahoo frontpage yesterday. I saw the title "5 min abs"..I was like OOOHHH. Unfortunately, if you have fat covering your abs an hour of this stuff wont work. The bicycle method is very effective but spot training does not work, unless you're already lean and you just want to tone up your ab muscles.
Also, I want to add that most ab exercises work to the same degree. Different exercises target different areas of the ab muscle and the bicycle method happens to target both at the same time. But if its not done correctly, you can really hurt your neck and back.

You have to do cardio to get rid of the fat on top the muscle, unfortunately you can't spot reduce, which would mean you focus on burning fat just in your abdominal area. Anything that get's your heart rate up is considered cardio, but they say you burn the most fat when you are in your target heart rate (you can google this). Typically for cardio I'll run on the treadmil or stairmaster. Hope this helps !!
