So I've had this for about a year now, it comes and goes.

I've noticed it happens when I'm usually at rest, sitting, standing.

I'll suddenly get this SHARP pain in my heart area, and when I inhale/exhale, the pain gets worse. At this point, I have to slow my breathing down and take shallow breaths. In a minute or two, the pain goes away and I can breathe normally again.

HOWEVER, if during this episode of pain i take one BIG inhale, there's an excruciating pain in my heart area, a 'popping', noise/feeling, and the pain is gone.

NOW. I've been to the cardiologist, and says my heart is fine, and insists that it's my lungs and might be a form of asthma I'm just not treating.

Anybody else have this problem/know what I'm talking about? Did you get it checked out? What did your doctor say?

I've done research and I'm convinced it's 'texidor's twinge', or "precordial catch syndrome", but whenever I search those, nothing about asthma comes up...

This is weird but it almost sounds like its your back?
Have you been to an D.O. or chiro?
Maybe your discs move easily in & out of place?
You mention asthma, have you been to a allergist?

After I went to the cardiologist, I was supposed to go back to my general doc, and he's supposed to recommend doctors for me, but he can't find anything wrong, so...

I've never been to an allergist...as far as I know i don't have allergies [if asthma doesn't count]. Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'll check the chiro, D.O., or Allergist out...surprised not one person can relate to me!

have you had a chest x ray? been to the pulmonologist?
did you cardiologist give you an ekg, stress test?
I would keep a log of when you have these episodes times of day etc. is it after you eat? it could be indigestion or something.
if you are having chest pain i would definitely take it seriously and go see as many docs as you need. Go to a different cardiologist. Your heart is definitely not something to mess with. I hope you find your answer soon.

are you on hormonal birth control? it sounds veryyy similar to when i had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung), which is a risk of BC.

regardless, a pain like this is nothing to take lightly. if it gets worse, please go to the ER.

I had an ekg done, saw my heart pumpin. he said I had a beautiful aorta. [hehe he was a cutie]

It's definitely not indigestion, it occurs a lot when I'm at rest. When I'm at rest, I tend to not breathe too deeply, very shallow breaths...

what she does say about asthma makes sense, because I do have it, but usually get it after a vigorous workout or something, so I'm not sure why I'd get my episodes while I'm at REST...

I'm not on birth control, and the episodes last 2-3 minutes [that is, unless i force myself to take one huge deep breath, in which case I hear and feel a 'pop' and it goes away]. Since they're so short, by the time I go to the ER, it'd be over...

they ran multiple tests on my heart, said it's perfect.

I'm really scared, only because I never know when it's coming!

could it be muscle tension? i had dull pains in the heart area and after yoga, it literally went away. hope you get your answer soon.

They ran my blood and said it's absolutely fine.

So many tests done and nothing!

It really bothers me that NONE of them had ANY idea what I was talking about! I had a friend who had the exact same thing I did, but never went to the doctor or anything. Don't talk to her anymore, but. I don't know.I'm so confused!

I wrote to dr. oz. Maybe he can answer it... haha

last resort, but hey! I want to know what it is!

I have had the exact thing you have described. I get it once in a blue moon, for no apparent reason, and like you say, I have to take really shallow breaths for a few moments until it passes. (I've never tried to take a deep breath during one of these spells- I would think it would be agony). Anyway I have always just written it off as an occasional cramp or muscle spasm that I get. I've never gone to my Dr about it, but then I don't get it often. If you have had all these tests and the Dr can't find anything, and you are in good health otherwise I would try not to worry.

I get this too, I had all the tests as well and it came down to muscle cramps across my chest. I hold myself very tense for some reason and the muscles sometime tell me to knock it off. But with a popping noise it sounds as if your spine needs adjusting or see a chiropractor no expert here though lol
