I have had migraines since I'm 11 and the only thing I know for sure that helps is Vicodin, so that's what I stick with. I have what I think is called classic migraine. It is preceeded by an aura with flashing lights and then that fades and I get an awful headache with nausea and occasionally parts of my body go numb. If I take the Vicodin at the time the visual thing starts it's usually bearable and I just try to lie down.
Migraines suck!

I used to suffer from the same thing when I was a child, except I never got the headache. They put me in the hospital and ran some test and ultimately determined I was suffering from migraines, sans headache. The older I got, the preceeding symptoms faded, but the migraines persist. I was able to get rid of a majority of them by cutting red meat out of my diet and keeping my estrogen levels up.
