Default Mcdonald's Diet

Not sure if this article belongs her, but I found it interesting:

Man sheds 80 pounds on McDonald's diet

June 20, 2008

QUINTON, Va. – A Virginia man lost about 80 pounds in six months by eating nearly every meal at McDonald's.
Not Big Macs, french fries and chocolate shakes, but salads, wraps and apple dippers without the caramel sauce.
Chris Coleson tipped the scales at 278 pounds in December.
The 5-foot-8 Coleson now weighs 199 pounds and his waist size has dropped from 50 to 36.
The 42-year-old businessman from Quinton says he chose McDonald's because it's convenient.
His inspiration came from his two children and from the story of a blind war veteran who rode a tandem bicycle cross-country.
Coleson says his goal is to get back to the 185 pounds he weighed when he married Tricia Summer. Their 10th anniversary is Saturday.

Very interesting...because their salads and wraps are almost as bad as their burgers as far as fat content/calories I think.

It does not say if he exercises though or how many times a day he eats.....I would be curious to factor that in

I think if portion control is the issue, then yes you will lose weight on the McDonalds diet-granted you only eat what you buy there and you don't go nuts.

McDonalds is nasty. Period. Just the smell of it turns my stomach. Blech. I would rather Subway anyday.

That's totally contradictory to Super Size me. Morgan gained weight when he ate Mcdonald's for 30 days and he was miserable. I wonder is that supposed to be man has shed weight after giving up Mcdonald's :)

yeah but wouldn't you lose weight if you ate salads and apples... from say, your refrigerator? It might be cheaper too. Weird. And just watch - he'll get a million dollar advertising contract.

Just one thing in defense of their salads: I recently started phase one of the South Beach Diet, and when my little ones wanted to go to McD's the other day I reluctantly went to the McD site to check the nutritional facts for their salads. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken has 220 calories if you omit the optional croutons and Newman's Own dressing. It wasn't my choice of salad, but it was OK.

Morgan ate everything on the menu, including double cheese burgers, milkshakes, supersized fries, big macs, etc. It sounds like this guy just ate salads, fruit, and wraps.

Morgan went nuts at McDs. Remember when he was actually throwing up the first time he had a supersized Big Mac meal and he still forced himself to finish it? Then once he got used to eating McDs and nausea was no longer an issue he was eating full on meals with desserts.

I think if you limit your caloric intake you'll lose weight, regardless what you eat. When I was on Weight Watchers I ate McD's and I lost weight. I just ate the lower calorie things. For instance, a grilled chicken salad with low-fat dressing is not that high in calories. And a six-piece nuggets is like 6 points, same as a Subway 6-inch turkey sandwich.
