Default Master Cleanse Diet..Started today..

Hey guys!! Well, I decided to start the Master Cleanse Diet (AKA..Lemonade diet) today and let me tell you.. its been not even a day and i almost caved in!! But i'm in this to win it and i want to last all 10 days..

i just wanted to know if anyone out there has tried this and what end results did you have? Any good or bad testimonials are totally appreciated.Obviously the weight loss is a total plus but the fact that you are ridding your body of all that toxin and waste.. thanks guys!!

Well you are suppose to drink a drink that consists of Water, Lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and Grade B maple syrup.

*Update..lol. After much thought and consideration (and LOTS of unsolicited advice from the parents) I have decided that i'm not going to follow this diet for now. I feel like nothing can beat diet and exercise (it's worked so far for me!) and i just dont feel right about this. Hopefully this will help others out tho if you are thinking about doing it!

I'm glad to hear that you're not doing it. It's a waste. Once again, your body was designed to expel any waste and toxins all by itself.

I did this once right after college. I felt like complete crap for the first 3 days, then I felt amazing. I lost about 10 pounds. In retrospect it was stupid, but at the time I was VERY focused on looking amazing at my ex's wedding (don't even ask why I bothered going). I wouldn't do it again.

And you eat nothing on it....

Not a fan, especially for 10 days. Very fad like.

I am so torn on these cleanse things. I did one for 3 days and it was apples and enemas...lol!!! Anyway...my skin cleared up and I felt better...no weight loss as that was not really my purpose.

I think the best way to cleanse your system is to eat healthy and drink lots of water, avoid processed foods and sugar overload. Your system should naturally be able to detox assuming you are putting the right things into it.

I have read a lot about how antibiotics are bad and may interfere with the natural cleansing but I guess everyone needs to evaluate what is best for them and their situation.

I fell for this a year ago. I didn't ask my doctor for her advice and boy was that a mistake! First of all, that salt water flush is dangerous! Chugging that much salt water could have severely damaged my kidneys. Sure you "lose" weight but you gain it right back after ten days because all that you lost was water weight. Also, I've heard of people fainting from the lack of calories/nutrition while on this cleanse. The riding your body of toxins part may be a valid point but as long as we have healthy functioning livers, it takes care of that for us without having to chug spicy lemonade

If you're on the cleanse and have gotten positive results, good for you. I'm just saying that do consider telling your doctor first.

Yikes. I'm glad your parents talked some sense into you. Your body cannot survive on liquids alone and attempting to restrict your intake to the lemonade concoction could cause serious health complications. Eat small healthy meals, drink plenty of water and move for half an hour a day. It's never failed me.

I could NEVER do this.... I enjoy eating way too much. I work out 3 hours a day and I eat 5 times a day. No more than 1400 calories and I balance my protein and carbs. This works for me. More than any "diet" I ever attempted. Sometimes I eat 3 times a day it just depends on my schedule. I could not train the way i do drinking this drink!! I would collapse!

I'm glad you decided to opt for something more moderate as well. I personally am in recovery from E.D. that kicked my a** for 10+ years...and living in L.A. for a part of that time where everyone was doing the lemonade and cayenne and syrup did not help me.

And, while I full realize that not everyone has a problem like I have had, I know that body image is an issue for nearly every one in this world. I am sending you lots of and I hope you know that you are beautiful!

Is there a way to throughly clean your system, while eating food?

I can't do any fasts. I eat to live, not live to eat
