Could I join as well? I had a baby back in October. I lost the majority of the weight in the first 4-5 months, but then plateaued. I swear I have been trying to lose the last 10 lbs since then (she'll be 9 months in a few days). I am finally pissed off and motivated. I am 5'5 1/2" and about 140. I would like to lose 12 lbs and/or drop a dress size.

Focusing a lot on exercise, plus eating healthily (cut out sweets, junk, fried food, processed food). I don't count calories -- with two kids 4 & under, I don't have time to look things up. I am trying to do low-ish carbs, with the exception of fruit. I consider fruits or veggies OK to eat any time, no matter all the Atkins/Dukan type stuff. I really need to roast up a big pan of veggies I can eat from for a few days at a time.

My exercise goal is 5-6 miles on the elliptical/arc trainer 5 days/week. I've been doing this for three weeks and the scale is not budging, but I'm definitely smaller and more toned.

Today: on track for food (think thin bar + cafe au lait for bf, quinoa cakes and a little bit of pork for lunch, salad with steak for dinner. Did have a few bites of the kids' snacks that they fed me, but literally like 1/2 oz of goldfish crackers/corn puffs).
6.3 miles on arc trainer (a little under 11 min/mile pace, level 6)

That scale better start moving soon!

Dance - I haven't heard of the beet diet. Is it just beets? I can't see being able to manage that for more than a couple of days. I did find a recipe for beet & fennel soup today that I'm going to make, mainly bc I am growing a ridiculous amount of fennel (took 6 bulbs to DS preschool today.)

Von- Congrats on the jeans! That sort of thing is so awesome!!

LeeMiller - Hooray for the swim shorts being loose! I know that feeling on the jeans. I am back into almost all my prebaby clothes, but I have one dress that I ordered when pregnant assuming I could fit later, and it's definitely small. I can get it on, but it's like a sausage casing. By the time I can fit it, I'm going to hate it for taunting me for so long.

I'm in! I'm going to Maui 2nd week of September so this is a must. I'm 5'4 and 150. Looking to drop about 10-20lbs to start. My issue is exercise. I need to set goals to get exercise in at least 3-5x a week. I walk a lot at work (about 5 miles) I can supplement that by taking the stairs as well. Calorie goal of 1200-1400 per day. I'm using the app calorie count to keep up.

Good luck everyone!

I have 3 pairs of jeans and 1 pair of dress pants that are too small. My goal is to get into them by Labour Day. One pair is a 27 so that might be a challenge.

Welcome to the new people!

I went to the gym again today! I had lunch plans with a friend but she made some hurtful comments so I cancelled. She said she couldn't tell that I've lost 8 lbs so far and that I've always had a big or fat *behind, except the other word.*. I'm still pretty upset but I know she just says things without thinking. Anyways I think going to the gym made me feel better.

I am sorry that your friend hurted you. I would be upset too. A good work out always make me fell better.
I weighted in this AM and lost 1.5 pounds. What happened ? I have not been eating properly, must be water, but I'll take it anyways, I am going to my boot camp right now and tomorrow is Zumba. Had lunch with a friend: beef tartare and salads, no bread nor wine. ouff. So far it's a good day. Let's hope I can manage not to cheat at supper.

Kimberf, like Chanelgirl I'm using a calorie counter app for my iPhone. Mine even tells you how much protein, carbs, fiber, etc that you are getting. It is called calorie count and it is free in case you or anyone else is interested.

Mrs darling thanks. I feel silly now for mentioning it. I love beef tartare. When I ordered it in Paris once the waiter asked me I knew it was raw! :)

I hope everyone had a great day! If not, tomorrow is a new day!

You ladies are doing great. I was doing fine until I had two biscuits for dinner with coconut syrup. Will get back on tomorrow and will finally be able to fully use our kitchen beginning this weekend. I want to juice. Need to add more fruits and vegetables in my diet considering I am vegetarian. Will also be able to exercise.

B - Special K w/ Skim Milk
L - Tiny bit egg salad with cucumbers and carrots
S - 1 Apple
D - Cali Pizza Kitchen Half Chicken Caesar Salad without cheese & a water

Water - about 3/3.4 liters
Exercise - None

LeeMiller - That sucks that your friend said that!! I would definitely talk to her and tell her that was a rude and hurtful thing to say. Glad the gym helped you feel better, and good for you for finding a healthy way to deal with the aggravation! And thanks for the tip on the calorie counter app.

ChanelGirl - You already walk a ton at work. I bet if you are counting calories, that weight will drop off, even if you don't get to the gym 5x/week as well.

As for my day, I was terrible at breakfast. I was out with the baby and stopped at a restaurant intending to get a muffin to give her and eggs for myself. However, they had biscuits and gravy, which is my weakness and almost impossible to get where I live (I literally haven't had it in at least a year.) So that sort of blew it. Hopefully made up for it exercise wise.

B - 1 biscuit with gravy, 2 turkey sausage links, coffee with milk
L - handful turkey pepperoni, banana (on the run for this one)
D - Sushi (1 roll and 8 pc asst sushi)
H20 - About 2.5 L

Exercise - 6 miles on arc trainer (like an elliptical) + 1 hour weights with personal trainer

I think I'm going to sign up to do 2 more days a week with the trainer. I need to do something different. Also have to remember to add fiber to everything; I have a bunch of Benefiber and need to start putting it into my coffee, water, etc.

I have not been getting the exercise I wanted to get in this week, too much running around. I have been eating better and drinking more water and no ice cream. That is a big step for me.
