I was curious if anyone tried the lemonade detox diet. It seems like its good to lose 10 lbs. I was just concerned about feeling hungry all the time.

Thanks!

I've never heard of it. I wouldn't suggest anything that is a quick fix to lose weight. The best way is to shed slowly with a lifestyle diet that is ongoing. Choose foods that will help you feel full longer and eat more often but smaller meals. Anything that is temporary and promises unrealistic goals, usually have disappointing outcomes in the long-run. Hope this helps.

A lot of these "detox" and fruit juice diets mainly help you shed your water weight. You will probably lose between 3-10 pounds, but you'll gain it right back once you eat something with any salt in it. IMO not worth it unless you have a specific event you need to squeeze into a dress for or something!

One of my friends went on it. All you eat is water with lemon and honey and pepper for like 2 weeks. REALLY unhealthy IMHO. My friend felt weak/looked sick/dying after the first 3 days...it was really hard to watch

Don't do it! This sort of super-crash diet is one of the quickest ways to slow down your metabolism and make yourself gain more weight in the long run. Your best bet is to cut down your intake just a little and up your exercise. It will take longer, yes, but the results will last longer as well!

Wow that is very unhealthy. The best way to shed pounds is to exercise and watch what you eat but not to the extreme.

I tried the detox twice, the first time I had to stay at home for a week because of some surgery so I managed to stay on it for about 7 days. In that time though I had absolutely no energy and just watched tv. The weight I lost I just put back on immediately. So the next time I did it decided would exercise as well and be really strict about coming off it. In the end I lasted about 3 days because my teeth suddenly started to feel really awful (which makes sense considering you are blasting them with lemon and syrup all day). I did lose weight but it just makes you crave food and think about food so much that it really isn't worth it.
I know what you're going through though - that feeling that you just want to kick start a diet and get in the zone by losing a lot quickly is so seductive. The best thing to do though if anything is just have a day of drinking water with maybe some smoothies and soup. That way you can lose that horrid stuffed feeling, it doesn't cost a fortune and also you are getting some nutrients.
Hope that helps.

THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A DIET. this is suppose to be a way to clean built up toxins in your body, any weight loss will be temporary. I have never done it but the people I know who have done have had to build up to the ten they started with 2 or 3 days then eventually worked there way up to 10 days. after they did it though they said they felt amazing afterwards and had tons of energy a couple of them used this as a way to clean out there system then start fresh eating healthier.

^^^ I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The idea that our bodies are cesspools of built up toxins is a myth. Anything remotely resembling a toxin in our bodies exits through our urine and feces. There is absolutely no reason to subject yourself to near starvation.

I'll second this.

It's called The Master Cleanse. I did it once years ago, the first couple of days were tough, but I made it thru and did feel pretty cleaned out at the end. lol That said, I don't really have a desire to do it again.

I heard the detox would help get me regular, so I tried it about a month ago. I did it for 3 day... I stopped cause I fainted twice at the mall in a 5 minute span on the third day. Will never try it again!!

this is a holistic belief and approach to medicine they believe toxins build up in the body being stored in various places like muscle, fat, the liver and so on. they believe that in today's chaotic society are bodies are bombarded with too many toxins to handle, so being the amazing machine that it is. the body hides them where ever it can, so that it can function normally. if you go see a holistic doctor they would recommend rather than trying this drastic of a detox choosing a safer route and do a raw food diet for 30 days then slowly introducing some none raw foods into your diet but for optimum health keeping at least 60-80% raw foods in your diet. if your going to do a detox I would recommend trying the raw food diet for 30 days I personally thinks its much healthier and safer.

just trying to explain where I'm coming from everyone has different beliefs I'm not trying to start anything.

after reading all of your posts I don't think this "cleanse" is for me. LOL I am going to continue doing what i've been doing in hopes of loosing a few lbs before vacation. I have been working out a lot and eating right but haven't lost any weight only inches which is awesome. I just wanted to loose a couple of lbs and it doesn't seem like their coming off.
