Default Iud

I feel like inflicting bodily injury on my friend who told me this wouldn't hurt. I went to get one today (Mirena) , it hurt and was uncomfortable. I still don't feel normal but I am sure that will pass. Also if I get pregnant on this thing I am going to F$%&# die ! Anyone else get one ?

^I have a paragard IUD and mine hurt like hell when my Dr put it in. I had mild cramping on and off for about a week after.

I haven't had personal experience, but I saw what my mother went through. I've never heard of GOOD stories with it...

I've been thinking of getting Mirena. I think the pain of getting it put in will be worth all the benefits of having it -- light to no periods alone are a huge plus IMO, plus the super-effective protection. The only reason I've been hesitating is because if we have another baby, it will be in the next year or two (bc I'm already old LOL!), so I don't want to go with something long term quite yet until we decide if we're sticking with one or moving on to two.

I think it really depends on the person..I had Mirena put in after I had my daughter in 2005, and had it taken out in January, and I barely felt it either time, and it definitely didn't hurt...

I think the fact that I had 2 c-sections and never even had labor for either pregancy definitely contributed to the pain factor, as my cervix hadn't been dilated and especially not the 9 centimeters that it takes to have a human. I definitely went through my own c-section pain but yeah I am all set.

If you take midol or something similar it will help the cramping and pain. I had two before and it help especially that time of month because it cramped alot.

I got pregnant with triplets when I had my IUD in. A fluke, I'm sure, but still.....
Also, my uncle is a GP, and he delivered a baby that was holding an IUD in it's hand. Creepy.
