My gym is right across my apartment (basically a 20 second walk, less than a minute).
I usually sleep around 2 or 3 am lately so working out at 8:37pm should be ok, right? I think my problem is that I keep making excuses, like "it's too late now, if I work out now I won't be able to sleep", but if I sleep at around 2 am usually then it should be ok to work out right now right? Do you think it's too late to exercise? Should I just wait until morning and then exercise instead? There's just never a "right time" to exercise. If it's in the afternoon then I also don't feel like exercising because I am sweaty and messy afterwards and I'd rather look good when I run errands or go shopping etc. As for mornings, my sleeping schedule is sorta messed up so I basically wake up whenever I feel like it can be anywhere from 10 am to 1 in the afternoon when I wake up so I don't get to exercise in the morning. Please just motivate me and tell me its not too late to exercise right now! It just feels late, like I should be watching tv instead at home instead of exercising. |

Usually I feel energized after working out and pumped up and I'm afraid it will interfere with my sleep even though I sleep really late. It's probably just an excuse though. I ended up not going to the gym because I just feel so tired right now. I will tomorrow though. |

I wouldn't see why it would be too late! I don't think it's really ever too late for exercise (I should listen to my own advice! LOL)

It's never too late. I say exercise when you have the time. I don't think it really matters what time of day it is.

I think I just make too many excuses, if it's early morning I'll think "Jeez I just woke up, I need some coffee, I'm not awake yet", if it's afternoon it's : "I'm gonna have to take a shower and do my hair all over again because I have errands to run later" and if it's nighttime it's like "Oh jeez all the good tv shows are on now", or "if I work out now I won't be able to sleep".
It seems like there's never a good time to work out even though I am self employed and make my schedule so I actually can work out anytime I want, yet there never seems to be good time. Really weird. |

I think it's fine! If I go to the gym at night, it'll be 9pm for me. I try not to work out though cos I find that I can't sleep afterwards. I'll be physically drained but mentally awake!

Anytime is better than not exercising at all.
You burn more fat exercising first thing in the morning, before breakfast, because your body has an empty stomach. That means that you will burn off stored FAT instead of food that's waiting to be digested/is in your stomach (which would be the case if you worked out say 2 hours after lunch). BUT, exercise any time that is convenient for you. It's always better than not exercising at all! |

They are excuses, get your butt to the gym. Do not overthink, put on your work out clothes and just go.
I wish I had a gym that was not 30 miles or more to go to. |

So - did you end up going at all? That night? The next morning?
Hope you did!

I usually go to the track between 10pm - 11pm. I get home around Midnight, shower, and then go to sleep without a problem. I say go for it as long as it doesn't disrupt your sleep.

No exercise when you want to. At night, just soak in a hot bath...that will get you relaxed and sleepy.
