Question Increasing your Sex Drive?

Does anyone have any home remedies, or something along those lines, for increasing sex drive?

I pretty much lost mine when I went on the depo provera. I've been off since October 07 and my periods/etc are returning to normal but I still have little or no sex drive. The only time I feel remotely frisky is when I've been drinking (wine, specifically) but this of course makes my SO think I have to get drunk to be attracted to him! (Totally not true.)

I've tried porn, toys, etc.. it either doesn't work or works once and then boring. I don't know what to do, and it's affecting our relationship. Next stop is going to the doctor but I'm hoping you gals have some advice first.

I have a similar problem due to BC. I have found exercise really does help (maybe it ups your testosterone or something?). I've tried some over the counter herbs from amazon and drugstores, not sure if it was placebo, but the first time seemed to really work but after a week, didnt do much. Would love to hear more suggestions as well!

I had the same problems on Depo. Got better once I got off it, but it definitely took time. Exercising hard really helped me out.

there are also different kinds of estrogen creams...it's most likely a lack of hormones, your body is trying to readjust everything back to the way it should be and it might have gotten stuck in that area. so try some of that. and also the link below gave some good advice. good luck

I had the same problem when I was on ortho-tri-cyclen. I switched to the low dose version and that fixed it!

You know, not that this is directly related to upping one's sex drive, but since it's mentioned somewhere, I'd like to add that I've been off Depo for over 2 years now, and I still don't have normal periods - whereas before I was regular and on time all the time. I'm thinking of trying acupunture to help get my periods back on track. I wonder if that would work for sex drive too?

^ yes. Depending on what the diagnosis is, but in one way or another it can have a significant improvment. But its not a one time treatment thing.

This might sound sorta weird, but exercising together is amazing for the sex drive! My boyfriend and I very recently joined a gym together and by the time we are done I swear we can't get home fast enough. There is just something about seeing him lift weights and all his muscles in his arms moving and I'm sure there is the hormonal release aspect to it (which might help you). Hope that doesn't sound too gross

I had the same problem due to anti-depressants. Strenuous exercise totally helps. My husband willingly takes care of the kids so I can get a good workout in now.

this reminds me...

I was recently having a fling with a guy I was working with (but different department so I wasn't around him all day), and I swear, every time I saw him working (it's sort of a manual labor type job), I'd get extremely turned on. not just the physical part, but seeing him a leadership position helped too I guess. so I can totally picture the exercise thing working
